After seeing many raw food anorexics get dropped off the deep end following such teachings, I have to disagree.

I would also advice to read Galina Schatalowa's book, just as an interesting input ;-)
Permalink Reply by Greenmama on May 1, 2012 at 1:45am This works when people are eating crap food. SO if you eat less meat, less dairy, less oil, less processed sugar, less processed grain... Of course you are going to feel better and live longer.
As DR says, there is NO calorie restriction in nature.

uh, yeah, I recently fell off the wagon a bit for about a week, getting 2000cals if I was lucky. My body is really getting used to 3000+ cals a day, and this dip in intake fairly crippled me and my ability to think and act. I didn't feel like zest for life was increasing, not one bit.

Permalink Reply by dangermouse on May 1, 2012 at 4:28am Calorie restriction - to a certain point - does extend life expectancy. However, they're thinking now that it's due to the lowered intake of the amino acid methionine, found in higher protein foods like animals, legumes. So 811 will have the same life-lengthening effect.
so true! your saving lives Durianrider! thanks.

Ive heard Gabriel Cousens & Matt Monarch talk about people that literally live under dirt in the ground for years at a time. These guys are either gullible as, or making millions from the gullible..
