30 Bananas a Day!

New Guideline: 30BaD is a No Kill Zone including Pet Food

Recently there have been some discussion posted asking what to feed our pets, and or debating whether to feed them vegan foods or not.

30 BaD is a vegan community that is not only based on human health, but in ethics, morals, and compassion.

Our vegan ethics include what we feed our pets, but possibly questioning why we have pets at all.  When we imprison and exploit animals for our pleasure and entertainment, we prevent them from pursuing their innate drives, and for living and carrying out their own life purpose.

The pet industry leads to other atrocities such as breeding mills, abuse of unwanted animals and or abuse by incompetent owners, and the problems associated with what to feed our pets, and the cruelty based pet food industries that do so.

And so, we have updated our guidelines:

And we are requesting members not to discuss non vegan and or cruelty based pet food options, and have provided the following solutions in the following Note:

Animal Sanctuary and 30BaD No Kill Zone!

And here is what the  note says:

30BaD is an Animal Sanctuary and A No Kill Zone!

30BaD does not tolerate promotion of the human supremacy syndrome. This means we oppose the harassment and exploitation of sentient beings for the 'potential benefits' of some humans. We find it unacceptable to suggest that humans use animals for experimentation, entertainment, consumption, clothing, economic benefit, and for food for pets etc. Forum guidelines

That includes what we feed our pets!

Should we have pets at all?

Perhaps the solution lies not in what to feed pets, but going to the source of the problem, and asking should pets be kept at all?

For in exploiting and imprisoning animals for our amusement, we are promoting the pet industry and the astrocities that occur as a result, and the cruelty based pet food industries that feed them.

However, in contrast to this, the pet conundrum should not be confused with at will animal companionship which was portrayed in the movie Dances With Wolves.  Here, the friendship between wolf and man was voluntary from both sides.  The wolf was not imprisoned and came of its own free will, and the man responded of his own free will.  These kind of friendships are voluntary and mutual, and at will, meaning either party is free to terminate the relationship at any time.  Neither person nor animal is exploited in the process.
