I have seen a few post lately about probiotics and it seems some of you are still wasting your money on them....STOP!
You dont need them, you get tons of FOS on this diet, probiotics are mostly killed by your stomach acid, so unless you are doing them anally (DONT DO IT!!) you are literally pissing your money away.
You can put Fructooligosaccharide in "Google Scholar" and see lots of studies done on how they fix gut bacteria. If you gut was a society (which it kinda is) FOS would be the food for the builders, which is better than trying to add more builders to a society filled with lousy destructive people (or bacteria in this case). I did not include studies here because most are on animals and YUCK you dont want to read that...so take my word for it or investigate yourself...but please I beg of you stop spreading the myth that probiotic pills are effective...just eat your ripe bananas.
That and simple sugars like fructose do indeed feed our gut bacteria and may have multiple other uses in the body. These gut bacteria can then be a source of b12 and or vitamin K in healthy individuals.
