I know in the depths of my hear that 811 is whats right for me. I feel best when I eat this way and want to continue. I went 811 about a month ago and for the first 2 weeks I ate 100% and felt fantastic! My face got noticeably better and I felt happier and more energized. I had a little slip up 2 weeks ago when I went to visit my family and since then I have not been able to stay 100%. I got for a day or 2 fully 811 and then my head starts messing with me. I start wondering if this is right for me and "maybe a little bit of rice or tofu wouldnt kill me" etc. etc. I sound like my mother when that happens! Then I eat the damn food and feel like ****. Or at least not as good as when I eat juicy fruit. Another thing that happens is that when I'm eating fruit I start to feel an aversion to it. Basically, when I'm eating raw I'm wanting to eat cooked and when I eat something cooked I crave my fruit sooo much and wish I hadnt eaten the cooked food. I know that the latter is my true feeling. Why the hell would I want to eat something that makes me tired and lethargic? And, when I eat cooked its never animal products or fat. Its sweet potatoes, rice, tofu. This is food that these days most consider "healthy" but it makes me feel like s***.
I need some inspiration. Please tell me your experience, offer advice and let me know how long you've been doing this. I need you now dear friends, I want to do this but am getting discouraged. This back and forth action is wearing me out. Thank you for your wonderful support.

I am not very good at offering inspiration or communicating in an eloquent way but I will tell you what works for me. I remember how good I feel when I eat correctly, when I feel like eating junk food. I was real close last night to falling off the health wagon and eating some junk food but I weighed the pro and cons. The brief satisfaction of eating cooked SAD is just that, brief. You will always feel terrible after eating it, so don't.
Simply, eat fruit or greens when you are hungry. It really is that simple and you feel great when you do.
Remember, there is more to life than food. Consider food as fuel and medicine, that's what helps me too.
Permalink Reply by Viktoriya on April 26, 2012 at 9:05am This is great. The problem with me is that I tend to forget how bad I feel when I eat cooked. I never eat junk food or SAD and that never really tempts me anymore. What trips me up is that the foods I want are things like brown rice, sweet potatoes, organic tofu or tempeh, lentils, cooked squashes etc. so when I start wanting them I ask myself why I shouldnt since they are things that are considered good for you by some standpoints.
Dang, your cravings are way healthier than mine! I was craving some fast food last night and I almost gave in.
Learn to control your thoughts. I have gotten pretty good at pushing harmful/negative thoughts out of my mind and quickly replacing them with somethings positive or upbuilding. It takes practice but it is a valuable skill to have.

Just keep working on it and everything will be fine.
Just remember, you are so far ahead of the average person where nutrition is concerned. Don't be so hard on yourself. You're doing good.

Permalink Reply by Marina on April 26, 2012 at 7:10pm Dear Viktoriya, I had the very same cravings. Before going 811 last September, I was on the diet of lentils, potatoes and rice. Loved it I must say. During the winter it was very hard for me and I ate lentils a couple of times and potatoes 2 times... I do not think I did anything bad. It was winter and fruits and veggies where I live were very scarce ... I do not like to take anything like religion and be too harsh on myself. I believe the same should apply to you. By eating lentils and potatoes u are doing no harm to anyone. :)
However, with the spring I got only cravings fro fruits and greens. Last time I had some cooked food I felt sick... I do not know how I am going to feel next winter unless I am in a tropical paradise at the time. :)
Load on fruits and start visualizing yourself enjoying the sweet, juice... fruits! ;)
Permalink Reply by Viktoriya on April 26, 2012 at 11:24pm Hey Marina, thank you so much for the support. I have been wondering about how to make it through cold days on a diet of fruit. I feel cooler when I eat fruit but its totally worth it because I feel fantastic. I feel really unwell every time I eat cooked food. I always end up eating a little bit and then wanting more like i'm not satisfied. Do you ever have that feeling?

Permalink Reply by Viktoriya on April 26, 2012 at 9:15am I know I know. I know it deep inside but I'm surrounded by people who think its crazy and extreme. I need to learn not to let their words affect me. I also tend to get very obsessive about food and keep trying to find something that will make me stop focusing on it. I think youre on point about keeping non 811 foods out of the house because every time I have something other than 811 in the house I end up eating it.
