Permalink Reply by Casey on July 10, 2012 at 4:07am If this is legitimate I would *love* to be a part of such a place. Not just to sit around and eat for free, but I'd help plant more trees and other fruits as well to make it even more of a paradise. If/when you see it and have photos, make sure to post them when you can!
Permalink Reply by Wild Light on July 10, 2012 at 6:55pm Hey didn't send me any photos really (just two bad phone camera photos which don't really count). The fruitarians on the island have put up photos, I posted a link to their facebook page earlier in the forum. All the info is there for you to get a hold of him and them. I haven't met any of the people, so I can't comment much more than that, except that it was recommended through a friend!

Permalink Reply by Wild Light on July 11, 2012 at 3:19am I don't think they have property tax, it's an island surrounded by fresh water lake, probably be lots of water there. You'll have to speak to the people there, I'm just the messenger :)
Lots of info here: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Fruitarian-Paradise-in-Africa/1409358...
Apparently one can become a resident within 3 years.

island although there are many precautions in place enforced by the
government.Fruits are there in mfangano all the year round though
there are times the production is low and would be bought from the
neighbouring places.Internet is there and is not a problem in my
farm.I think i can take care of any visitor.I'll send to you some
photos showing my farm tomorrow. Those photos will also show some nice
meditation sights.

Permalink Reply by Wild Light on August 23, 2012 at 9:09pm I decided to head over into the great unknown for all who've been following this. This is quite exciting and super daunting at the same time. I watched the movie "the beach" the other night, which got me to realise that the biggest thing is leaving ones known securities. Though I see it all as an upward spiral towards greater expansion. So I'll be sure to let everyone know how it goes. Here's to love and freedom!
