30 Bananas a Day!

Hi All, I received this information and was asked to pass it on:

First email: Hi,mike,i'm joshua.I live in mfangano island. My occupation is
farming.Amongest my farm produce are fruits.I Produce
pawpaws,mangoes,guavas,sugar apple,oranges,lemons,bananas,

castard
apple and lockwards. My neighbours equaly are farmers who also produce
a number of other fruits like jack fruit, tomatoes  amogest others.I
live on top of mfangano island on some rich agricultural land.Cool
winds blow across that makes it nice to stay. Its a place that is not
polluted as there are only few people inhabit this area. There are two
major fruit seasons.May,june,jully and early august-first season.Late
october, november,december and january-second season.Though there are
always fruits throughout the year but the two are the major seasons.Im
writing to you after knowing you through my friend Brian. My major
reason for writing to you is that you assist me in making this place
known by fruitarians all over the world. If there can be people coming
to make us of this fruits,it can be my pleasure. Most of this fruits go
to waste because of lack of people to consume them.I welcome you and
any of your friends to come and see for yourself and share with
others. To get to mfangano, one has to come to nairobis' jomo kenyatta
international airport. From nairobi there are buses to a place called
homa-bay,then you board other buses to a place called mbita. From mbita
you board boats to mfangano island. One has to part with 1,800
shillings to hire taxi from airport to nairobi town,800 shillings to
homa-bay,250 shillings to mbita and 150 to mfangano. That is a total of
about 3,400 shillings.I am ready to pick anyone who wants' to come
from nairobi. My phone contact is +254729518224.Welcome. N/B. Its risky
to travel alone especially foreiners because nairobi has many many
thugs and cornmen(robbers.)
My response:
Hi Joshua!

Thanks very much for your email, it's really nice to receive something like this!

It's definitely a tempting offer for me to come and check out (I'm busy looking where to go next), the best offer I've ever had. How many people do you think you can have living there? Is there anything that you expect of them if they are living there e.g. working etc.?

There are lots of fruitarians in the world looking for a new home. How long would you be happy with people living with you for? Is it easy to find land around there if people want to buy and build their own homes while living with you?

Brian is a very special friend of mine, and he said you are a really good person, so I'd love to help you!

Take care,
Michael
His response:
Hi mike, sorry for not responding in time. Thanks alot for accepting to
help me.Mike you asked about what i expect from people who would be
coming,my answer is that-i expect nothing....or maybe i dont
understand your question. One thing that is clear is that its a pity
particularly now to see hundreds of mangoes lying under the tree on
their way back to the univers while there are people who need
them.Mike i'm stranded because i was trying to get a camera so that i
could send you photos of the curent state of my compound. The best
resolution that i have reached therefore is that if you can come then
let me know so that you plan by what you are seing.I think you know
what it takes to do all this.Invite along four friends to come and
begin consuming what is going into waste now.On the issue money or any
kind of payment i would say that i give nothing to these trees and i
expect nothing from them because nature has provides them for free.I
live that to you though if anyone feels that he wants to offer sothing
then he is free.On the issue of land, get here and we shall get to that
it is'nt a difficult thing.I have some sleeping place but you can cary
your tents.I'm preparing to meet you in nairobi.Try to get here in
this season. It will help plan well and positively.I'm joshua.

Thanks a lot for sharing this. My heart just made a big jump!

  This is really amazing!

Id like to join you and help! Whats to do?

Eat fruit, nothing to do! Trees and farm already setup :) There are also a lot of fruitarians on the island setting up community, though his orchard is already setup. I haven't seen photos, and I'm still feeling out whether I'll be going (I normally wait a week with decisions). When are you available to go?

Omg! This is great!

I could comply with you. When are you ready to go? Is there anything called deadline?

Is it possible to stay there for longer?

You can live there forever if you want. If I went I'd probably buy land to grow trees on and setup a little island shack. Also if I don't go the opportunity doesn't close, he's inviting whoever wants to come. This is the new world! :) I have to be in South Africa till end of August probably, I'm handing over a project. I'm looking for somewhere to further my spiritual journey, and Brian my friend is there as well, who is super rad. So for me I'm deciding between that or going to study shamanism in Bolivia. What is your birth date/time and place of birth? I use that for getting to know people I'm connecting with

I really see the opportunity to live there. Seriously. It also can be a great place to further ones spiritual journey.

Your idea to buy some land would also be an option for me! I already thought about it some time in the past. so whats needed?

I think i am gonna make myself ready.

Just some money I guess, not much. There has to be visa runs done once every 3 months, though apparently there is a way to only have to do it once a eyar. Apparently a few people can live on an acre, using permaculture. I have books on that and natural building. Also some funky other info for setting up community, how our energy patterns relate to each other. I've been playing with this idea for ages, though didn't seem like anyone was ready to do this. I guess I was just looking in the wrong places :) Do you want to add me on Skype? my username is mschek

Oh and here is the project that is going on there (they seem to be pulling it together now): http://www.facebook.com/pages/Fruitarian-Paradise-in-Africa/1409358...

Wow! How awesome!

*bump*

is this a scam ? beware i say  -doug

yeh it's a scam, that's why I posted it. Of course not silly :) There are still good people in the world! Friends of mine have stayed with him before when they started off on the island, he just seems like a nice guy. He's been sending me photos and things of the fruit.

he he he  funny you got me...sorry  .... d
