hi guys....i have only been on raw food for about 2 weeks and i'm loving it! i don't have to restrict cals and i'm still losing weight. i am female, 5'4", and weigh 108. i have been a fairly healthy eater in the past....but not vegan. anyway, today i was in a store and all of a sudden i didn't feel a part of the world (if that makes sense)....so i went to pay for my items and i told the lady at the cash register that i thought i was gonna faint. thankfully she had a chair i could sit in and she gave me a piece of candy thinking that my blood sugar could be low. i had eaten blueberries and a peach for breakfast. this was over an hour ago and i still don't feel 100%. maybe it could be stress and not related to raw food? hubby and i had a pretty bad fight lastnight. i'm wondering though if it's a possible detox symptom? i'm having a green smoothie now....hoping to feel better.

You are not eating enough calories. I don't know how many blueberries you ate, but half a Kg would give you about 285 calories, and a large peach is about 70 calories. A grand total of 355 calories. I can tell you that I'd be feeling exactly the same as you did if that was all I'd eaten. Like I was about to blackout any moment!
It's a good idea to log your food intake on something like cronometer until you get a feel for the amount you need to eat to succeed on this lifestyle. Just to give you an idea, my girlfriend is 5'2" and starts the day with a 1000 calorie breakfast, a 10 banana smoothie. She snacks again on more fruit usually before lunch too!
Hope that helps!
Permalink Reply by Lala M. Apples on September 4, 2012 at 4:39am I would have to agree. Those fruits are wonderful, but you have to make sure you are eating calorie dense foods too. I think a banana smoothie is best. Or 2 liters of fresh raw pulp filled oj. Especially first thing in the AM. I try to eat 500 to 1000 calories. Also, try to start the day with a liter of water to help with the detox. It has taken me along time to figure it out, but the best way to thrive on this lifestyle is to make sure you are getting in over 2000, preferably 2500 calories --- you really see a difference. Good luck!
Permalink Reply by peachypoo on September 4, 2012 at 5:30am thanks guys. i guess i feel like 1000 cals just for bfast is too much cuz you always hear how a woman should have about a 1,200 - 1,500 calorie a day diet. i'm so new to all this fruit eating, and from what i've read here and other places, you guys eat tons of calories a day a still lose weight. now does that mean you are exercising like crazy? if i were to up my calorie intake to say, 2000 cals a day, would i need to exercise quite a bit? my main goal is healthy eating and detoxing and changing permanently (for life)....but i would also like to lose a few more pounds (goal weight 100 or 105). i did come home and have a huge green smoothie and some ezekial bread with raw almond butter. as well as almost a cup of a mixture of raisins, raw nuts, and a couple dates. i know the bread is "cooked"....but i was afraid maybe my body was detoxing too fast. if it's just a matter of eating more calories, than i feel better mentally about all this. i hope this is what it is.

no one is fat eating fruit
try out this high calorie fruit way and see how it is for yourself how wonderful it is
so stuff down the fruit and pay attention to your body and mind how they react to being fully of nutrients and water and sunshine and sleep
i tried what was suggested here and now I know .
HIT THE TARGET OF 2500 calories then observe this is amazing but not for everyone only way to know is to try
