Permalink Reply by KKG on May 26, 2012 at 6:59am Most of their diets consist of veggies, oils, nuts, seeds, and some fruits. Most of their calories coming from fat. I don't hang out with them but learned about raw foods through them.

Sure, that may be the case with some, heck, perhaps even the majority of raw vegans. But to say that even those ones are consuming more fat than SAD eaters seems like quite a stretch to me. SAD eaters consume massive amounts of oil - deep fried stuff, cooking with oils, etc. - and crazy amounts of fats from animal products, pastries, desserts, etc., etc..
Take the diet of a high fat raw vegan and place it beside the diet of a SAD eater, and I think you'll find that the SAD eater trumps the vegan in fat consumption by a long shot.
In any case, we know high fat doesn't work, and we know that 80/10/10 is the ratio best suited for human beings. Let's get as many of our vegan friends onto 811 as we can!
Permalink Reply by windwalker on May 26, 2012 at 6:53am I think that your metabolism, the amount of energy your body uses each day, changes a little bit, if you begin eating more food with fiber, then it will burn more calories and together more fat.
But vegans can eat vegan junk food, so that would not apply.
Permalink Reply by ORGANIC811LFRV on May 26, 2012 at 9:50am The term "vegan" in the raw community is the same as "Christian" to me. You will hear tons of things without validation, substantial scientifc reports, and from others who have heard it from others, who have heard it from others, etc.
SAD eaters eat tons of fat. Vegans, and by this here I mean RAW vegans, eat on average 65% fat and then they can't lose weight and heal. Fat is fat is fat is fat. This country is fat overloaded and carb-starved.
Best for you to focus on your own path to health, read 80/10/10 and do the program. Never mind about others.
Permalink Reply by KKG on May 26, 2012 at 10:52am I was just curious. I thought I had read an article stating that vegan eaters don't store fat like SAD eaters do. I wasn't sure if this was just due to eating less fat or if eating this way somehow changed your metabolism.
