I’m working on a report for my mechanical engineering course which includes a section on the Kyoto Protocol and climate change. As well as mentioning Climategate, I am pointing out that the primary anthropogenic climate change advocates consistently fail to call for animal agriculture (the greatest single source of anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions) to be phased out. I also claimed in the report – just to push the point of corruption – that animal protein in the human diet has been shown to contribute to the development and spread of malignant tumour, diabetes, heart disease, stroke, Crohn’s Disease, arthritis, multiple sclerosis, osteoporosis, obesity, Alzheimer’s disease, and many other serious health conditions.
I’m citing Livestock’s Long Shadow as a source for animal agriculture greenhouse gases (18 % of total anthropogenic greenhouse gas emissions), but I need good sources to cite in support of my animal protein health claims.
I’ll of course be citing The China Study, as well as a couple of books by Drs Esselstyne and Barnard but really need a few more to reference. Ideally I would use journal articles but I just haven’t the time to search for them. I know there are a few on the PCRM site, as well as some listed in the back of The China Study, but I really do not have any time to find appropriate articles, and I don’t just want to cram any old article in (regardless of how good they might be) as they need to support the exact claims I am making.
The subject is engineering and not nutrition, that’s why I am unable to spend a lot of time looking myself. I have another eleven reports to write after this one, and ten of them need to be finished within a month!
Please post into this thread good journal article links/names or books that are as scientific as possible and will support my claims. Thanks.
Wish I had more to offer, but this is the only thing that comes to mind.
Would love to see the final product.
Do you mean my finished report? It's pretty dull!
