From my understanding, Easter celebrates the rising of Jesus, I've only celebrations in church I've seen are all verbal homilies and prayers. Personally, our easter celebration changed many years ago, most of family has slowly but surely turned to a vegan style of eating and while the younger kids may may get a few chocolates ( because the big budget thrown around by the  chocolate/dairy  industry....the Easter bunny is just as strong as any milk moustache ad.

You choose this style of eating for a reason, use those same reasons to stay away from chocolate and it's derivitives....simple.

easter is the heathen/pagan celebration of the spring equinox in the northerm hemisphere - that is why the celebration includes eggs (sign of pagan fertility) + rabbits (sign of pagan fertility + the spring lamb (self explainatory) and is the celebrationn of the resurrection of the "sun" ruling over the night - in otherwords the day becomes longer than 12 hours of light and the night becomes less than 12hours of dark and the cross on  hot cross buns are in fact the solar cross - a emblem signifying the two equinoxes & the two solstices of the year- so in truth, the whole thing has nothing to do with the mythological story of jesus of nazarath.

Thanks Vegan witch! I have never heard about this before! Oh, I hate formal education. So non informative. Well, I did learn the most things on my own, but have never really studied this topic before... so interesting!
