30 Bananas a Day!

At a local Asian market, seeking the mighty Durian and not knowing its location, I found two workers in produce, one of whom apparently speaks zero English and another who speaks minimal amounts.
First I simply asked where the durian was, without being understood.
Next I said: "spikey fruit" and shaped a ball with my hands--no go.
Last I said:  "Stinky fruit!"  and pantomimed holding my nose.
Grinning understanding then dawned:  "Ah, Durian!" :D

Wow, my favourite fruit!

My husband and son also Love it!

I could eat one  once ( before I became a fruitarian.)

Looking forward  to the Durian season, and here I could get inexpensive Durian ( inported from Thai)in Summer.

Haha!

my son eman and I must bring ours directly to the backyard and if I try to buy any while the youngest is in the car I get very strong objections, I can't understand it, I get it home before it thaws enough to smell, at least to me anyway, lol.

Wow, your youngster must have one sensitive schnoz to complain about even a frozen one :)

Haha good one. Oh I'm a avid lover of the stinky fruit. Love love it.

LOL! HIlarious. Windlord, you make me smile. :)

I have to do similar hand gestures when asking for boxes of Apple Bananas :) I just point to the bananas and say "Box".. while gesturing a box. Works every time! Now haggling the price.. that's another story.

I just bought another Durian one today... can't help it. I need durian in my belly!! IT BELONGS IN THERE!!

lol to funny!! how do you say jackfruit in charades??

haha OMG thats it!!! this had my family laughing out loud ..

Get the organic Malaysian durian. Thats the real deal frozen durian. I cant eat the Thai stuff no more. Had maybe 2 of em in the last few years.

I've only ever seen Mornthongs (whole).

Where do you find the Malaysians?

Eventually I have to taste a Durian. I worked up the courage to buy one, then walked to get it stickered and they rang it up at more than $50! For one Durian! Needless to say, I went home without it.
