Okay so I am just starting out on this lifestyle... I don't know for sure if I will be able to stay on it forever, but right now I have been trying to stick to 801010 hcrv 2300+ calories a day, and trying to drink 2L of water Plus 1L datorade, green juice.
Technically, most of my life I took in about a glass of water a day... 300mls. I never got thirsty really but I was actually very dehydrated.
Since starting this on monday I have had more water than ever, probably 3Litres of liquid a day... but my skin is getting drier and cracking when it wasn't this dry before...
I understand that detox does strange things... but the dry skin doesn't seem to make sense to me if I have x'ed my usual water intake by 10.

Using products on your skin (body wash, deodorant, makeup, cleansers..) not to mention taking hot showers (the chlorine content dries our your skin a lot) are only a few things that will contribute to skin issues. Your skin is your biggest organ and toxins are often going to be flushed out. If you are just starting out, it's going to be a while before your body has stabilized and your detox period has ended. If you stick to it long-term (5+ years is long-term) you'll have the softest, smoothest skin you could ever want, it just takes time :)

Permalink Reply by Kristi Warner on September 28, 2012 at 2:06pm I get the same thing during detox (especially with my lips), but it does always go away, and my skin is always smoother then ever.

Permalink Reply by Robert K on September 28, 2012 at 10:16pm Drink like 1L of water in the morning after you wake up before you do anything. If sometimes I skip this, or don't drink enough in the morning, then I can get chapped lips.

Permalink Reply by Christian on September 30, 2012 at 4:04am i got very dry skin on my face for a few weeks or so, mainly around my nose, forehead and chin. I mostly left it alone to sort itself out but once or twice i put on some raw virgin coconut oil on after a shower in the evening which helped a lot.

Permalink Reply by PK on September 30, 2012 at 8:40am Eat at least one mono meal of oranges a day! Vitamin C is great for collagen and skin. Keep drinking and don't forget to get at least 8 hours of sleep a night. You might need more during the initial phase of detox.
Eat whole raw fruit and lettuce greens, about 1/2-2 heads a day:
Lettuce greens should not be confused with cruciferous greens and veggies like kale and spinach. These are high in oxalate and can cause skin problems:
Try to avoid soaps, lotions, and other cosmetics and wash with water only.
Good luck and Peace, PK

Permalink Reply by Sue Hoffmann on October 1, 2012 at 9:39pm this sure is detox. your skin is your third kidney! you detox through your kidneys, lungs, skin and bowel. your bowel is the inner part of your skin!
your body detoxes everyday, but as you step out of the way for it to repare itself, it will show more intensive signs of it, hang in there, you'll get over it. it's called healing crisis and describes the moment when your body has to cope with the highest amount of toxins. help him by moving your lymphs (exercise) always in reasonable relation to your physique of course and get enough rest!
