Ive been putting off mentioning this because I think it is so unnatural.
I hate water.
When I try to drink it my throat kind of closes and it feels like I am swallowing something too big. It is painful after half a glass.
I try to keep hydrated by drinking water that a liquorice root has been marinading in to take the water taste away.
There's a lot of people on this site so am I the only one?
Is it the water or me?

Permalink Reply by Peter Csere on April 12, 2012 at 8:34am Does your water have chlorine and fluoride in it? Or perhaps some lead?
Or is it well water from a well that was hand-dug in the 1950s and there are acres and acres of heavy-spray agricultural operations surrounding your property?
Or it could just be you. Did you used to drink other stuff besides water? Soda, gatorade, etc? Water would taste bad to you until you got used to it.
Ditch the liquorice, put in a lemon wedge or squeeze a little lemon in.
Permalink Reply by Sarah Calothis on April 12, 2012 at 11:45pm I travel and the water taste bad everywhere out of the tap. The bottled water is no better no matter what they say on the label, If you test it it is no different to the tap stuff.
I have never like fizzy sweet drinks but I can drink soda water. Before 80/10/10 i drank a lot of coffee, but that was two years ago.
If I freeze water and defrost it it is a lot better.

Permalink Reply by Viktoriya on April 13, 2012 at 12:04am Man I totally understand what youre saying! I have a hard time drinking water too. My boyfriend and I used a brita filter for a while and it still tasted weird. Then we found out that our local health foods store sells reverse osmosis water for like 30 cents a gallon so we started filling up gallon glass bottles with that stuff and that water is truly amazing! I still dont drink as much as I probably could but I like the taste a lot more. Its very crisp and clean and almost sweet. My guess is that you are super sensitive to the chemicals in water and your body just doesnt want it. Try finding reverse osmosis water at your local health foods store. It might make it a bit better. Hope this helps
