Do you want to live forever? I got this from a co-worker while explaining my raw vegan diet. He said "you could get hit by a bus tomorrow and it will be all meaningless. The pleasure in life is eating good (steaks, chicken, fish, Pasta, alcohol and so on) Why bother eating leaves?"
I preach a lot about this diet to friends, family, and coworkers. Most are receptive and understand the benefits but others block their consciousness as doing bad is good and deem what I do as silly.
I know in my heart in what I'm doing is right. Has anyone got the same comment? Comments like this don't bother me anymore. I just nod my head and think you poor bastard lol. I use humor for people like this, it keeps me sane and not angry.

Permalink Reply by Lauren Anderson on April 26, 2012 at 9:48am I want to live a long healthy life. Maybe break a world record for being the oldest person... but after that I want to see what's on the other side. If it's just a 2nd dimention and I'm stuck there as a ghost. Or it actually is heaven/hell. Or reincarnation. I'm just curious, and also I'm hopeful that I can see my dead pets in the afterlife.
Permalink Reply by Carlin Hasty on April 26, 2012 at 10:24am I love how people act like my diet is so miserable, when I get to eat all the delicious fruit I want and people who eat unhealthily go on these crazy diets and starve themselves. Who is really unhappy?
Permalink Reply by Ignazio Palazzolo on April 26, 2012 at 2:18pm I believe the addiction of food is so strong that a logical and rational idea cannot penetrate his beliefs because the food addiction to the SAD diet is so strong that it controls him versus him controlling it. It's an issue of addiction the similarities of drug abusers are very similar. I actually feel sorry for him.
I'm grateful that the information was out there for me which made a big difference on my way of life. Now it's my turn to give out that information so I can help other people if I can.

Permalink Reply by Casey on April 26, 2012 at 11:38am It's not about quantity of life, but quality. Do you want to feel 10-20 years older, suffer various illnesses and ailments, become debilitated, smell bad constantly, lack energy, have impaired senses, etc.? Sorry but alcohol and meat and dairy are just addictions, not true pleasures...when you give them up for long enough you can't understand how one could derive pleasure from such a thing, and get really excited as different fruits start coming into season that you've been missing for a while!
Permalink Reply by Casey on April 26, 2012 at 3:04pm I've known many an alcoholic and junkie who do indeed proclaim this exact same mentality as justification for their habits, fully acknowledging that they probably won't live to 40 but feel that life only goes downhill as you age so they don't really care.
Permalink Reply by Ginger on April 26, 2012 at 2:48pm Its precisely because that one may die at anytime that it is important to eat the right food that is good for us and for the sacred earth. At least if one dies one can say that they did not abuse the planet and its creatures, but rather they nourished their body and soul and did not eat God's creatures.

Excuses.
