30 Bananas a Day!

This website is AWESOME but I can't help but feel it would be amazing to have actual live, nearby lfrv friends. I am hesitant to reach out for various reasons but someday I will. :)

So, what's your story? Did you find friends at a pot-luck, did you convince your friends/family members to come with you in your fruity ways or maybe the reverse, they got you interested.

Luckily, Meg lives on Vancouver Island, only 35 minutes away me! Also, Ted lives in Vancouver, around a 4 hour trip away. Meg and I have gotten together a few times, and the three of us did a zip line/rope course in the trees just yesterday! We all met here on 30BaD. I'm very grateful to 30BaD for connecting us!

My partner is also becoming more and more interested in this lifestyle. He's already low fat vegan, but he's embracing the fruity life more each day!
I have zero friends or family who are even remotely interested in this diet. Apart from maybe one girl I know, but she lives in Canada and I won't be seeing her again for about 2 years probably.
I'm not exactly a fun person to make fun of because I just don't acknowledge that kind of stuff and when people realise they can't get a rise out of me they don't even bother. My friends generally have health questions for me and just ask me how its going.
I came across some Doug Graham audio by pure chance about 9 months ago and it was like finding holy grail of nutritional science that had alluded me upontil that point.

Its a shame I don't know anyone in real life who are interested in incorporating natural hygiene principals, but I'm sure in time I'll meet my fare share :)
I've gotten my older brother/flatmate to eat about 50% raw, my mom and stepdad about 80% raw, and other than that I've yet to meet anyone (besides some old friends back in California) who are interested in eating this way. But cut me some slack, I live in Texas.

I've been doing a lot of writing about how to make this diet more desirable and convenient to those with little fruit experience or desire to make copious fruit consumption an important daily thought. My family members have taken a liking to my dietary advice and see the extremely positive changes that have taken place for me (and more recently within themselves), physically and mentally. This has inspired me to work through writing a book and to film a show/short about the aforementioned.
It's taken a while to be able to objectively discuss how this is the ideal human diet with meat-eating skeptics, but it seems to be more easy these days to at least convince them in part. I'm very grateful to have the fruit-fueled energy and inspiration to channel my passions through filmic and literary endeavors to hopefully spread this LFRV information to wider audiences!
This is a great question, Figgie. You know, when I'm on social networks like this one, it's easy to mistakenly think that all these people (except poor me) have great networks of family and friends nearby to encourage and support their efforts. But, it occurred to me a while back that we're all pretty much in the same boat--isolated to some degree. That's why it's so important to keep these networks alive, no? Honestly, I don't know what I'd do without them...
I first learned this way of living at an event thousands of miles from where I lived. I came home and started but didn't know another person in my area who followed this diet. This was before 80/10/10 and certainly before this website. It did help that my mom, sister and one brother were (cooked) vegan, though.
dont wait to feel proud before you do something, otherwise you'll miss out on a lot in life.

Imagine if Victoria Boutenko said 'Oh when I am slim then I will start sharing rawfoods message'
Imagine if Lance Armstrong said 'when I can win the Tour then I will ride it..'
Imagine if someone drowning said 'before I use that lifejacket, I want you to prove it will work.'

Those that hesitate....masturb8.
i'm not worried about sharing my health problems with the 811 crowd cuz i feel like if anyone they understand. i am less open to talking about this diet with everyone else cuz i hate to be a poor representation of the affects of fruit. with my pimples and not being as fit as i would like, i would hate to leave a bad impression of what an 881er is.

and i know what you mean by outgrowing old friends. i've been experiencing this also the past couple years. but ppl change, and for me it has been a little like a social detox.
When I went vegan, I had never met another vegan. When I got into raw, I had only ever read about raw fooders.

When I went travelling, I never knew any other language..

It sure does help to be surrounded by like minded folk. I wouldnt live in an area where there was no cyclists/runners etc. I understand that the biggest raw community is on the net so thats why we created this site so crew could network. Even old forum members Fred Patenaude and Bella met off this site and got married.

The more time we spend putting our name out there, the more friends we meet. :)

Most people will think your crazy but I say its crazy not to live how you really want.

I love this Durianrider, that's pretty much what I live by lol. Perfect.

Wow, you got me thinking with this one. I don't know a single adult in my town who runs. When I run I get looks like they think someone must be chasing me. Hmmm...it might be time for some changing..
I should add that when I made a cross-country move a few years ago it was WONDERFUL to visit other raw-friendly friendly homes along the way.
