30 Bananas a Day!

Do sticky dates have added sugar ?? Even if it doesn't say so on label ?

Some dates  I buy (deglet noor, non organic) are very sticky and super sweet in a funny way.

I wonder if  they can add sugar without saying so on the label sometimes ?

not sure if they can add it without saying, but ALL of the deglet noirs in ireland and here in italy have glucose syrup added (unless you buy them organic from health food store). so annoying. and gross. and...STUPID!!!!!!!!! dates are already pure sugar!!!!!

similarly, alot of dried fruit (raisins, dates) i find are coated in vegetable oil, i guess to prevent sticking, and that is NOT on the ingredient list often. or its very hidden.  BLEEEH.

I had to wash a container of dates one time since they added glucose to it. You may have to do the same.

Damn, then it's true. I knew it !

I'll always buy them organic from now on.

It's too much a risk to keep adding so much refined sugar on a fruit which is already packed with sugars.

Thank you for this.

And true, same for raisins and oil too...

Ugh! Same problem here! I bought ten kilos of deglet noor from Iran and find them suspect... when I rinse them glucose does not seem to come off, but I wonder if they could be saturated? They were SUCH a bargain that I couldn't pass them up, but won't be buying them again if I can't trust them... I'm half way through and rinse them all thoroughly then soak before eating (they actually practically dissolve if I soak them for very long??) so I am hoping they are safe?

Wow, I was just wondering about the same thing. I just ate at least 200g of very sticky and very sweet Deglet Noors...

So...does that mean they have glucose added???

I doesn't say on the label...It says: "No preservatives added." :S

Holy crap, are we sure Organic Dates are safe?
