Hi,I'm doing second week LFRV and I feel super cool and super cold too :).Europe is not the best place fot LFRV:)
From my experience and from observing others, I think it's pretty much inevitable to experience some level of detox symptoms, but the intensity of them will depend on how unhealthy one is before the change to HCRV. Straight from SAD to 811 usually carries with it a few months of sometimes quite intense detox. From vegetarian to 811 will be less so, but it depends on if one was a junk-food vegetarian or a health-food one. From vegan to HCRV there's usually minimal, if any, detoxing, from what I've seen and experienced.
It's tricky to predict what you'll go through, which is why it's nice to have support from the folks on 30BaD during your first few months on HCRV, so you can have questions answered as they come up.
people experiance a whole variety of different symptoms. its important to remember that they will go away if your eating and sleeping correctly....i dont recall any negatives but ive been raw for years, most common is craving or body temp issues.. after a brief period you should start to feel great effects of this lifestyle ..Sean
Hi Jennie! Welcome to 30BaD :)!
I definitely experienced a lot of detox symptoms- from skin breakouts (which still happen, but WAY better than before- I'm guessing eventually that will stop too), rashes, pains and aches, stomach issues (which isn't detox per se, it's just the stomach getting used to a new way of doing things ;), and many more!
I'm about 10 months HCRV. I did transition slowly, but that was unintentional for the most part. First I went vegetarian, then vegan two weeks later- for a few months, low fat vegan for a few months, Then I started to eat some of my meals raw, and actually THEN i found out about 30BaD and Doug Graham, and after learning a bit more I switched over 100%, never looking back :).
Here's Mike Arnstein talking about detoxification, it's a great video. He says to wait 2-3 months and then reevaluate, I honestly think you should wait like 6 months ;)
"you should wait like 6 months" YES thats perfect advise.... give it good run to really feel the diff
Definitely. I'm at 10 months and I STILL feel like I'm just starting out (well, I really am!).
I like what Kristina says here, it can take a couple of years for your body to clean itself out!
I am two months in raw mostly low fat and lots of bananas.. I can only describe my detox so far as horrible and severe.. I am 28, have never been severely over weight, never over abused alcohol etc. I have been vegan for a year before I went raw and my symptoms so far has been- FLU ( booked of from work two weeks ), almost constant anxiety, heart palpitations, pins and needles ( Thanks be to Jesus it only lasted about 3 weeks ), foggy head / disconnected and confused feelings for long stretches.. night sweat, extremely burning feet that woke me up during nights, LOTS of mucus from my lungs and nasal pasages… the symptoms are still ongoing but are getting a little bit better..
I have been at stages where I cried out of frustration, and am constantly praying that I will be ok because I am not use to being this “sick”
I trust in God and will check in from time to time on this post and would love to ask anyone reading here to post bad detox symptoms, length in months or weeks etc.
All the best and may God protect you all.
I think I'm having detox still, I became a vegan last year in November, so it can take a while!
My skin has had an increase in spots on my face
