Permalink Reply by DURIANRIDER on April 30, 2011 at 4:00pm Dan's a bigger guy than me and trying to eat less than me. No wonder the Reese's come in reach. Then poor Dan thinks he is not spiritual enough and has to do more fasting so he can 'temper his mind/eating' or whatever. Whoever told him that needs a kick up the ass and a lesson in human physiology.
If your stranded for food Dan, grab a gallon of juice or rice and ketchup. At least that way you get some decent carbs so you can keep on cranking. I remember overdoing the nuts and gourmet raw all the time and wanting to fast afterwards. Now I couldnt imagine skipping a meal! lol!
it's part of the vicious cycle and manic nature of humans driven by low carbs. Carb up and loose the voices in the head, the need to fast and wanting everyone to love you feeling. You are awesome DR, you don't sell out and say it as it is.
Permalink Reply by CaptGeezy on April 28, 2011 at 12:22am He has inspired me as well. I watched many vids before i found this site. I went from superfoods with david (fatboy not slim) wolfe, then started learning from "life regenerator" and then I read 811.
Dan McDonald gives great advice and is very positive. He praises wheat grass juice among other juicing techniques and recipes.
811 Really Clears things up and im glad I read it after hearing all other "raw" diets. I still have alot to learn.
Recently im trying to find out the truth on enzymes in food. Our body makes enzymes and digests food with those, and eating food loaded with live enzymes does nothing for us its more for the fruit or raw food its already in???? does everyone agree ???
Thanks Nick.
Permalink Reply by Sarah on April 28, 2011 at 3:54am Wow. I have never really thought about what many people are saying here on this thread and it all makes a lot of sense.
I have e-mailed Dan in the past (about a month ago) about the amount of calories needed and he told me a very simple answer of eat until satisfied. I respected this notion because that is what was told to me when eating when my diet was the SAD. Now it doesn't make much sense that my eyes are opening more and more on this thread.

Permalink Reply by Owen fox! on April 30, 2011 at 6:01am here here Dude, ive read so many comments here but this is the first i was COMPELLED to reply to. i love all the people here and respect them all, and amazing comments too, but really its way more than simply about food. love, peace, compassion, FEELING GOOD simply put!!!!!! i love life, i love the variety, i love Dan McDonald too. he's awesome PRESENCE on the tube.
we're ALL powerful and dynamic amazing Beings here having an experience, CHOOSING the creation we want to create, whom and what we are and want to be, moment by moment, by our ability of free will. what a blessing eh!!! :D
ive been watching millions of people on the net lately, studying Brian Clement, Ka Sundance, Paul Nison, Pauls raw "guru" who is 80 years or more, 40 years on the raw diet and listening to Kevin Gianna too. and Doug!
the flaw i find with 811 is that Doug doesnt answer questions properly on his vegsource about wanting to learn more about the comparisons. he's very "this is the way and im sticking to it". the flaw is that what about people who DONT have organic, fresh, ripe and raw foods ONLY in their diet? so many are not emotionally and psychologically in a place to do this. so i find Dougs program only deals with optimal performence but doesnt invite others who are starting out and dealing with cooked food etc. for eg, if someone is still eating a little bit of junk food, and also raw junk foods fatty cakes etc... overeating, and eating cooked food 60%, wud it be good for them to take wheatgrass juice or supplement on algae etc? id love is Doug got into this area just a little, to broaden deeper knowledge and understanding, as well as fascilitate and invite non 100% 811ers into the raw and HEALTH world!.
love and respect to Doug, and all
namaste!
Owen :)
ps. if u wanna add me on facebook would Love to have more cool 811 friends here form this site :)
thanks
