I was taking care of a hospital patient today, as a nursing student, with cholecystitis, and the doctor comes in and explains to him, "A high carb, low fat diet will sure enough cause cholecystitis. What happens is that there is not enough fat in the diet to keep the gallbladder active, so the bile just sits there and starts to inflame the gallbladder." WHAT?? Grrr! Where do they get this? What evidence do they have?
