Yes, this lifestyle is awesome for crohns or colitis.  It's helped me tremendously.  Have you read the book Self Healing Crohns/ Colitis by Dave Klein yet?  If not, I'd suggest it!! It saved my life. It takes time and patience to heal, but the results will come if you are willing to commit.  I'd never go back to the way I used to eat because I enjoy this lifestyle so much aside from the fact that it will help you heal.

Also, if you are unsure on how to go about the outline in Dave's book, you can always set up a phone consultation and he's a great help.  His book goes right along with 80/10/10.

I'm new here but I've seen numerous people have their Crohn’s, IBS and/or Colitis vanish when they switched to raw vegan and also avoiding grains. The best way would to go one step further and do the raw vegan diet using a juicer and/or a blender and a nut milk bag to strain out the fiber. You're temporarily eliminating the indigestible fruit and vegetable fiber while consuming a very large amount of healthy fruit and vegetable juice a day. Digestion starts in your mouth simply by chewing. By removing the fiber you're making digestion extremely easy on a damaged digestive track thus allowing it to heal. You're also finding the cause of it by the process of elimination. You first eliminate everything and then add until you find the cause of the problems.

You can still match the 80/10/10 plan on a juice diet. 1-2 gallons of juice daily depending on your size. Basically it's a diet of liquids. You do this for 2-4 weeks giving your entire digestive system time to heal and flush out. If Crohn’s, IBS, Colitis completely vanishes then you try adding blended fruits. After a week of that you add in some whole fruits and then the whole vegetables. If your still symptom free you add a small amounts of nuts.

Most likely you can jump right into the HCRC lifestyle but it would be smart let your body heal up first so that it can handle a more fiber rich diet down the road.

Hi, yes I have ulcerative colitis. I also highly recommend Dave Klein's book. It has changed my life. It's important too as not all raw foods are suitable during the healing phase.

Thanks everyone!!!  I have read David Klien's book and actually did try to give it a shot but I don't think I gave it long enough.  it felt like all of the juice I was drinking was just going right through me when I was trying out...anyone else have the same experience..does it get better if I just stick with it?

Yes definitely stick with it. The problem is usually what you're eating. The barium, (GI), examinations, inversion X-ray's, CT scans are all a thing of the past for me.

I was on Asacol (Mesalamine) for years. I haven't touched that stuff in 8 years. I totally forgot about it and "never" have problems anymore. Proper food is everything.

Yes, Please try again. Must be patient with the symptoms and continue to follow exactly what is outlined in his book. It takes time to heal from such a chronic condition.  I'm still healing as well and I always do better when I get my green juice in and plenty of rest and sunshine and also exercise is very very important. I'm currently doing a supervised water fast at true north fasting center... day 7 of 14.. I've already released a lot of toxins. Just keep trying. Do you notice that you've felt better overall even though you still suffer with symptoms? Our bodies will keep cleaning as long as we're patient and supportive. coconut water has also helped quite a bit and dates.

I had crohn's and colitis when I started out onthis diet (as well as many other health problems) but I am now 100% cured - no problems at all :) Avoid nightshades and go easy on the greens and citrus (and other acid fruits) while you're starting out with this. Focus on easily digestible sweet fruits - bananas are perfect, and you might want to try a couple of weeks on banana island to give your body a head start :)

Take care and feel free to ask if you have any more questions,

Thanks a lot everyone!  Just trying to finish up work for the season then I'm giving it a real shot!  I need to make a change I can't continue to live like this!  I appreciate the advice!

Hey, this is the only "cure" to Crohn's and colitis. As others mentioned, I worked with Dave Klein and that made the initial problem go away. Then it was up to me to keep it from coming back. Since I started I had one short small episode of colitis which went away with a fast for a few days.

I don't know how long you had IBD, or what drugs you have used to control it but if it was a while and a lot of meds then you need to expect it to take a while to get things back to normal. Mine took about 14 days of complete rest with soft ripe bananas and minimal vegetable juices. Those were very difficult days but the final results were worth it.

I can give you more info if you PM me.
