Me too. Absolutely love cherries... but always get bloated and gassy afterwards. No idea why.
Permalink Reply by CynthiaRV13 on June 29, 2012 at 7:14pm I think it is because they're full of fiber, like plums.
Permalink Reply by Sebastian (venerable tree) on June 29, 2012 at 7:28pm funny thats the myth i grew up with about fruit that always made me afraid to eat "too much", it might have to do with something else, i do not get this reaction i just ate over 5 pounds of cherries, btw, loose stool and actual diarhea are way different things diarrhea is a bacterial thing that can dehydrate and kill you sure we are born to eat fruit but maybe you are recovering from eating other stuff still.
Permalink Reply by Jelle on June 30, 2012 at 5:19am So I just put this to the test today and eat 2kg of cherries that I bought last Wednesday and yes **** hit the fan... now to find somebody with a scientific explanation :) else its just coincidence.
Permalink Reply by Mette Marit on June 30, 2012 at 6:56am I eat a lot of cherries but I've never gotten diarrhea. The only thing that gives me the runs are prunes. It's all the fiber! Helps to stay hydrated. That's why plums give you less gas than prunes! :)
