30 Bananas a Day!

Has anyone noticed any positive changes in their menstrual cycle since adopting a low-fat, raw vegan diet?

Since I began 11 weeks ago, I have had two periods. There was not much change in the first, but with my second one I noticed four improvements: 1) no need to take any pain medication, which I have ALWAYS needed for the first 2 days; 2) the volume of blood I lost was at least 1/3 less; 3) the number of days I bled was reduced from 5 days to 3 days; 4) the blood was not full of clots.

Sorry to be so graphic, but there is no way around it. :)

I have had severe dysmenorrhea since I began menstruating at the age of 13. I have followed an all raw diet for long periods off and on over the past 20 years, but it was always VERY high in fat (good fats, ha ha), and never made any difference in my monthly misery. I am so happy to have discovered that eating too much fat was the problem, but I am also stunned that this was never mentioned as a possible cause in any of the literature I read.

I would love to hear your own experiences.

Yeah! Eventually i stopped bleeding regularly in general... Sometimes if i am under severe stress or eating high fat, i may get a period, but even then, it is very light and easy to deal with!
Yes, definitely the same benefits as you, and sometimes, no cycle at all. Plus, no more menstrual migraines.

DREAMS REALLY DO COME TRUE!
hey! yeah i had dysmenorrhea as well, on a high fat raw diet i was suffering so much! i'm not usually a baby but I would throw up, get freezing cold, then sweat, curl up in a ball and cry! my doctor said if i wanted things to get better i would have to start taking tylenol 3's! horrible! ever since i've followed 811, NOTHING. I still get my period but I can't even feel it! This ALONE keeps me lfrv, MIRACLE DIET, i swear! :)
right on! its interesting you said that because a few months back i had bad cramps and i was at work (WORST EVER, im a receptionist at a spa) and in so much pain and i actually got pretty scared at how it hurt so bad, and i thought to myself.. hm, i actually think i should go to the hospital (im soooo not a hospital person) but i never did because i thought it would make me look like a drama queen (even though i probably should have) ..i went home early from work one day because of my cramps and my boss was soooo mad! shes like "well, we all get them so you're going to have to get over it!" i was PUKING in the mens change room between checking guests in, it was HORRBLE! so glad those days are over! :)
I used to have to take narcotics for the first two days of my periods as well (they were THAT PAINFUL) but now NO PAIN!
Is your body supposed to hemorrhage every month? Periods: they may be normal but are they natural? -

Menstruation - Is it really necessary - http://www.curezone.com/blogs/fm.asp?i=982094

My former partner used to get shocking symptoms when she bled. It would have been great if she had known about this way of eating back then.

Personally, since eating lfrv I haven't had a period at all! Could be the diet, could be cos I'm a bloke and don't have a womb. Who knows?
:D
Hehe Soul -you should see your doctor...doesnt sound healthy! ;) Could definitely be the diet LOL
The doctor will know...they always do!

It's something every girl should be told at the outset of menstruation!

Thank you for posting those the curezone website! I have been wondering the answer to this question for ten months now.

nothing in 10 months :)
I remember being 15 and getting so pissed off (PMS) and screaming "How the hell can this be NATURAL!!!???" Oh, wait, it's not!
they were sporadic while high fat raw but disappeared as soon as I went 811rv :)

It is so nice to know other women arent getting their period either. I havent had my period at all since going 811 ten months ago.
