30 Bananas a Day!

Do you have a good website you can share with me where I can buy raw organic dates online? I heard 7hotdates.com is good but they are out of stock right now. Suggestions?

Good thing they have the promotion section... they're regular prices are crazy expensive.

3lbs of honey dates for $27.35!!!! I buy 2.2lbs for $5.00, and that's after the grocery store markup!

The one's I buy are from here, but they're local to Ontario, Canada.

IDK I ordered a 15lb box of Barhis from Shields and was disappointed, I have never gotten Barhis before but they weren't anywhere near as gooey as I expected. They were somewhat dry, only about half of them were moist to my liking and none were gooey. Maybe I just got a bad batch.

Last time I got Khadrawis and Halawis from 7hotdates/bautista and boy were they gooey.

Oh, that's disappointing, but good to know because I was thinking of getting Barhis next time.  I guess I will stick with Khadrawis!  Thanks for the heads up! :)

Although, we mostly use dates for dateorade, so I guess the dryness wouldn't be that much of an issue.  I love eating fresh gooey dates, but I'm always secretly terrified that they'll rot my teeth out. O_O

Oh wait...Peter, are you talking about shieldsdates or harrysdates??

Shields

hey mama orangutan- why are you worried about dates rotting your teeth out?  is it just the sugar, or something i don't know(eek!!)?

No, not the sugar...but dates are sticky and I'm really bad about flossing and brushing after every meal...so I'm afraid the sticky delicious date goo will get stuck in my teeth and start doing damage before I brush at night. :P

I got 4 boxes from them last year and I can confirm they have really amazing tasting dates. One of the boxes of Barhis we got were literally the biggest Barhis I've ever had and they were absolutely delicious.

Awesome deal for the Barhi Dates! Never tried those. Kind of iffy on ordering 15 lbs of dates I've never tried

Barhis are my favorite date.  I have only gotten them from the Date People, though, and they were always quite moist and caramelly.

I got some medjools from Fernandez the "Ramadan Special" a couple weeks ago and when I asked him if the dates were moist or dry he said you pick so I told him the wetter the better and they were nice and gooey. Here the website:
http://fernandezdates.com/online-store/ just make sure to email him and let him know what you want :) it was only $44 for 11lbs and he said they're grown organic just not certified.
Did you see where it says Ramadan Special down at the bottom of the page? He doesn't specify what kind of dates are in the Ramadan special on there so I asked him and he said it's a combo of jumbo and large medjools. Here's his email:  he responds pretty quickly.
