Hey everyone! (First post, yay!)
Buying (good quality, non oil-laden) dates seems to be a challenge faced by most 30badders residing in Australia (unless money is not your problem!).
I've read people talking about buying dates through Santos and Dates Australia -- they seem to be the most popular sources.
My question: has anyone purchased dates through goodness.com.au?
Whilst their Organic Medjool dates are rather pricey, pitted dates (Iranian) are about $31 for 10kg. Although I understand that organic ones are superior, these seem like a good option for me since I cannot dish out ~$100 for a 5kg box (I haven't checked but I am assuming no preservatives are added in these pitted dates).

If I soak and blend them to make datorade, the dryness (judging from the picture) shouldn't be a problem, right?
Looking forward to any advice/insight!
Permalink Reply by mel marley on June 26, 2012 at 8:12pm I have bought dates through datesaustralia.com..... I spent over $100 and was really disappointed with the quality as they were very dried out and horrible. Very surprised cause freelee did a video - epic date haul -with dates bought from this supplier and they said that they were very fresh and tasted great.
I could have just struck out because the date season finished recently though.
The dates that you've shown are dried and definatley won't taste as good as fresh ones....even if you do soak them
