Hi all
I am new to the diet, I live near a large fruit and veg market, but the produce isn't organic and it's often not ripe and goes off before it ripens. Does anyone know of somewhere where I can buy in bulk organic which will deliver?
I have tried market fruit, it is often bland or just disguting, okay if you're only eating a couple of times a day but not good for enjoying whole meals of fruit.
Any suggestions gladly received.

don't u find A&C a lil bit too expensive? -.- poor me
Yes, always. Their bananas seem more of a deep yellow than the ones in the supermarket, and I've never received them green. I can't remember getting an unripe mango either.
Their blood oranges need special mention, they're great. :)

I am also in London. I buy my produce from either of the following Wholesalers (note the do stipulate minimum orders depending on where you live).

For cheaper dates but not organics (but very sweet and delicious - nicer than organic wholesale ones) try;
Please bear in mind - I only buy bananas and dates from the wholesalers - if you buy other fruit it is often hit and miss! So I generally get my other fruit from organic section in supermarkets...
I also run an 811 UK Meet Up group - feel free to join. We should be having some London based meet ups over the course of the summer!

Let me know how you go on the fruit purchases!

Permalink Reply by cafeaulait on March 20, 2012 at 10:09pm thanks for this, i usually don't like buying fruit if i can't see what i am buying. are the bananas ripe which you buy?
Permalink Reply by Beastie on March 21, 2012 at 1:22am No not ripe - you can go down to each of these wholesalers to pick your fruit. Normally takes about a week to ripen (bananas)
You just need to buy it a couple of times and see if you like them, you normally get the same thing/taste/quality each time.

ANYONE ON A BUDGET LIKE ME WHO WANTS REGULAR wholesalers? lol ://
DO U KNOW ANY CONVENTIONAL WHOLESALERS WHO DELIVERS?
THANKS

They're not that cheap but they do pre-mixed boxes like most organic deliverers which is usually a better deal than buying separate items.
