I enjoy white sapote, or green sapote the best. Black sapote doesn't have much flavor. I'd much rather eat a regular persimmon than these guys!

Hi Ryan,
Green Sapotes are very similar to Mamey Sapotes, they are related to the Mamey; both are orange in the middle but the Green Sapote is green on the outside.

White Sapotes are from a different fruit family. They are lovely, but different in taste and texture to the Mameys and Green Sapotes.

Sapote is just a South American name meaning "fruit". So it covers fruits from different families.
