thank you!! :) How about a city outside the US, any suggestions?

I just asked almost the same thing heres the answers I got...

http://www.30bananasaday.com/forum/topics/where-is-the-best-place-t...

yes, I only noticed after, but I'm actually looking for a place OUTSIDE the US, I am European, have lived in NYC for 6 years, and would like to experience smthng other than USA... Suggestions?

whoop I didnt even realize you wrote that I read it too fast. good luck on your search I wish I could help.

:) Thank you anyway! If I were to move to the US (that is if I could get a visa to do so), I'd definitely move to south california, not sure exactly which city, since I've only visited LA so far, but San Diego seems to be a beautiful place and much cheaper than LA for sure. It is crowded with open minded people and a lot of raw foodists live there. :) Good luck on your move! Let us know how it goes! :) love, CB.

any more suggestions please?

Berlin, Sydney

:) Hey!! do you live in Berlin? I always wondered about it, is easy to get fruit in germany? and also could you tell me how much you'd pay for a week of fruit there? or how much you pay say for papaya, bananas and melons per kg? In Portugal the minimum wage is 500eur and prices per kg are like: bananas 0.99eur/kg; melons 1,50€ per kg (depending on the season they can go higher or lower); papaya is 4€ per kg (super expensive :(   ).

Thanks again!! :)

thanks! :)

I guess you're not taking the gay factor into account since I believe India, Guatemala and costa rica don't really have gay communities. I don't know about Thailand or Philippines int that matter though...will do some research.
I live in Portugal, do you know where that is? It's right next to spain, so there's not a big difference in terms of produce and weather, although in Spain salaries are higher, which means better life quality (they seem to be in a bad economical state at the moment though, so it's not ver appealing of a place to move to), but you should definitely visit it, spain is beautiful (and so is portugal btw! ) ;)

So yeah, So far seems like australia would be the best pick: great stable economy, big gay communities (that's very important for me because where I live, there isn't one, and I want to be surrounded by open minded people and not hide or be ashamed of who I am). Only thing is it seems like DR and Freelee complain a little about how expensive produce is there... I would have to get a very well paid job! :)

Where would you move to if you could? and where do you live now?? :)

thanks again! :)

Hi For_The_Love_of_Fruit, :)

Yes, Australia would definitely be a great option, some territories even allow marriage for all sexual orientations (which every country should do!). :)

HERE is a good link, where you can inform yourself about countries in general.

European countries other than Portugal that I would recommend (even if the weather in most of them isn't always warm) are:

- Norway*

- Sweden

- Belgium

- the Netherlands

- Iceland*

* in Europe, but not in the EU

^^All of those countries allow marriage for all. Out of the European countries, from what I've been researching so far, to meet at least most of your needs, I would go with Sweden, Belgium, the Netherlands, or Norway. Even though I haven't been to any of those countries yet, I would most likely choose Belgium, especially the Flanders region (the Dutch-speaking region). Because I found a good guide (for homosexuals) for the cities: Brussels, Antwerp, Gent, Leuven, Brugge, and Oostende.

Belgium is tolerant for so many things.

Second-place would probably be the Netherlands or Sweden.

I research countries/geography as a hobby. If you would like any further help, let me know. :) I'm coincidentally in the process of making a country-comparison chart for a dear friend of mine.

i am belgian and other belgians will tell you the fruit is very hard to get and not having sun blows.

i would say Greece myself

I hear you on the sun there!! but greece? I agree on the weather, but their economic state at the moment isn't very appealing... I hear there's a depressive mode going on around the country. (Not that I can say Portugal isn't, lol! but that's one more reason why I want to move!). :)
