*I'm European, and I know from experience that getting a visa to live in the US (though I'd love it), is neither simple nor easy...

+1 The same for The Netherlands. We hardly get any sunshine, its very depressing and cold, and getting quality, quantity and variety fruits is hard and expensive (100 Euro per week). I guess the people are OK and reasonable tolerant.

Its hard to recommend a place, it depends on so many personal factors.

I am personally reorganising my company so I can go do some travelling. I want to checkout Houston, TX (Sun!! currently its 29 degrees Celsius and they have fruits and nice people), I also heard about Belize and would like to learn more about that place.

Learning some Spanish would be a wise move :)

Athena, thank you sooo much! :) It's awesome that you do this kind of research as a hobby!!

I'm lucky to be planning this move ahead of time, it won't happen until probably two years from now (have to finnish my degree here first). From all the gay&lesbian-friendly places, as of now my main choice seems to be Australia  - great weather, abundant in trees and nature, beaches, and delicious tropical fruits!

But if I have to resort to Europe for a while first, I'll take your advice on it! I hope I don't have to though, only reason is because I really abhor cold weather! lol!! If those countries were warm, I'd be there tomorrow!!!

Are you planning to move out of Germany sometime?

Oh btw, since you do research on this kind of stuff, having in mind the lgbt thing, weather and cheap fruit, do you have an idea of where in australia would you advise one to move?

Thank you again!! :)

You're very welcome For_The_Love_Of_Fruit.

You are very wise to be planning ahead of time. I am always happy to help great people out because I wish them very much that they have a better immigration experience as I did (in terms of often heartless immigrations officers)

Given certain factors, it is very probable that I won't live in Germany forever. But because I've had years of stress fighting to being able to live hear at all, I need a bit of "rest" before I embark another adventure of changing my location. But when I do, I will most likely be in safer circumstances as I was as I immigrated to Germany.

Yes, I especially enjoy researching such subjects as LGBT and geography in general, I am more than happy to search in greater detail into the different cities of Australia.

I'll get back to you as soon as possible, but until I do, hopefully you'll accept my friend request and then I can send you information per PM. :)

Lets get married and we can switch citizenships! LOL jks ;)

Lol, Any day of the week! But that wouldn't solve my part of the problem, I am girl!! :) And as of today's state of the laws in both continents, you could live and work in Europe as an European Citizen by marrying someone of the same sex, yet an European cannot move to the states by doing the same. Yep, US is just "fair" like that.

Thanks though!! (I guess you thought I was a guy ;)

9 states you can

Darling Sunshine, I was talking about IMMIGRATION LAW, not getting married! The United States Immigration law is the same throughout all UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.

did it recently change because i know 3 people who did this in the last year.

Are you sure?? I have lived in the US for 6 years, and never heard of such thing! A very dear couple friend of mine even moved to germany because of this!

If you are sure and your info source is reliable then that would be awesome news. But until I see it stated on the USCIS official web site I won't believe you.

i will ask the couples i know who got married just for that reason and ask how it was done.  i know i have given belg citizenship to 3 people , very easy

it is easy if you're marrying an american man they will get belt citizenship, but you won't get american one. That's how I've always seen stated on USCIS. (of course the same isn't true of heterosexual marriage). But if you get info on that from your friends, I would appreciate it! thanks
