I have had a problem with eating bananas in the early morning for quite some time, but hoped that it would pass with time. Sadly, it did not pass so I'm curious to know if there is somthing that I can do to help it.
Every time I eat bananas as a monomeal for breakfast I get horendous stomach pains/cramps for about 20 minutes. It feels like my stomach is eating itself, and I usually end up going to the bathroom. It makes getting ready for school very uncomfortable during this time, and it's not easy to work through the pain. I drink 16 ounces of water directly before eating the bananas, and sometimes a little bit of water afterwards.
Any advice? The bananas are perfectly ripe.
how many bananas are you eating in the morning? and have you tried blending the bananas with the water (into a smoothie) as apposed to just eating them?
Someone else posted a similar problem and there were a number of replies, one of which suggested that the volume of water the other poster was drinking before eating may have interfered with digestion by washing away stomach enzymes. Or something like that.
