Idk, but this was a while ago, so   .. so far I haven't heard anything in the news and there doesn't seem to be a shortage yet..  Maybe it didn't affect lg amounts of crops and so didn't affect distribution?

I have actually had to buy conventional bananas instead of organic because of some sort of shortage.

Researchers have already developed new varieties Taft will be ready for market should Cavendish get wiped out.
