put a piece in hydrogen peroxide, if they bubble they are raw.
Hard to tell from pictures only of the packaging. Dates, though they often appear "dried", are often raw/fresh - they shrivel naturally in the sun (which you could call 'dried', I suppose).
Either way, just make sure to drink water with them to stay hydrated. Or, even better, make datorade. :D
I get them at a farmer's market. They are usually loose and sold by the pound. I've seen them in health food stores this way, too.
