I don't understand why this community is being so unsupportive of a newbie asking questions.

Hi Jade, I don't think that is necessarily the case, but having seen trolls come and go, and I do not think that is Aydrianna's purpose, people are often "on guard" if they catch that "flavor" because that or of thing can pretty quickly come in the guise of "freedom of expression" suck the life out of a site, make it an "unsafe" and unfocused place and then leave it in ruins. See my post to Jamie just above this one.

There are some wonderful and supportive people on here and a lot of combined experience that we all draw on. I think a lot of people here really value that and may sometimes guard it jealously. I'm glad for that, we can all look out for each other and lend a hand and feel safe doing it because of the unity of purpose here :)

But like I said to Jamie, we each are responsible for ourselves in the end and have to do what we have to do to get the best results for ourselves. No one else can do it for us and we can take or leave any advice we read or receive. We are all free agents.

There have been plenty of brilliant people that changed the lives of people all over the world in their twenties or younger, among them Augustus Ceaser, Anne Frank, Thomas Jefferson, Steve Jobs and Bill Gates.  Secrets of Longevity guy isn't a wiener because he's in his twenties.  He's a wiener because he say's idiotic things.  Don't doubt him because he's young, doubt him because he's an idiot.

BTW, I'm no longer in my twenties either.

hey Aydriana, you should change the name of this thread [again] to: "Life vs. Death?".

I didn't change the title or edit the thread... I was actually wondering who did that.

Well, whoever did it, thanks! And also thanks for adding the video of organic "earth" bananas.

I would also like to note that if you live somewhere where bananas can grow they are some of the most productive, fast growing, and sustainable plants you can grow!

Aydriana-  just wanted to let ya know the majority of us warmly welcome newcomers  and those on a learning curve!

Aren't organic nanas destructive because they have to constantly chop down new rainforest and plant organic on new soil as they try to avoid Sigatoka disease? That's what I read in a book about bananas once.

That is indeed what the guy in the top video is saying he read in a book.  I don't know how to compare that with the sustainability of other diets except of course meat production is well known for cutting down rain forest on a much larger scale.  Supporting truly sustainable agriculture while buying bananas is doable.  One example I do know of is earth university  which has been growing sustainably and fair trade produced bananas and they taste so much better than organic dole.

This guy visited one of the schools:

Also for locals in Florida as well as those within the shipping area, there are sustainable organic growers there.

Long time 30BaD member Jourdan supports the small sustainable farmer's of Florida by selling produce over the internet:

Cool! Thanks for sharing :)
