Just wondering if anyone else is from the scene. Did you find yourself listening to ''happy'' music once you started changing your eating habits? :P Also like to know if anyone is attending the Kinetik Fest in montreal. Please feel free to message me :)

Permalink Reply by Marcos Linberg on July 19, 2012 at 2:24am I used to have a mohawk... tried to get it back again a couple of times, but I found out that things just change... I'm still a lot into punk rock, but a hawk? Not for me anymore, so sad to say this...
Anyways, punk rocker here! "Hardcore 'till the day I die!"
and yes... I've been listening to happy music too... lol!

Omg! Thats really funny because part of my hair is shaved and i recently decided to let it grow back! I'm sick of getting attention from people and just want to be left alone. Ive even toned down my look, not because i dont love it but because..i dont know i guess im changing. I hate attracting attention, so that must be part of it. DOesnt mean i didnt love my look before though. Weird huh? Damn bananas making us happy!
Permalink Reply by Georgina TheFruitMeister on July 19, 2012 at 9:46am I like all kinds of music but metal is definitely a preference! Good to know there are other metal-lovin' people on the HCRV lifestyle :D
Permalink Reply by Sylvie on July 19, 2012 at 10:53am Yeah, I was a total goth kid when I was younger. Combichrist, Rammstein, Korn,... I would listen to it all.
But since I've changed my diet, even just to a vegetarian in the beginning, I've noticed that my anger levels have decreased and that I don't find it as pleasurable to listen to this sort of music anymore on a daily basis.
I'm not sure if this will sound cookoo but I think that we ingest all the adrenaline and hate at the time of death of the dead animal on our food plate, and in return our hormones and spirit are upset...
Permalink Reply by Carlie on July 20, 2012 at 1:05am LOL maybe. Even when i eat 100% raw i still love my music though, but definitely feel less angry or sad in general. Just feel very at ease. I still did find commercial music (radio) annoying and void of personality. It physically hurts to hear that music.

You mean the kind you hear on the radio ?
The 'Pop' music that's all about sex, drugs, alcohol, violence, murder, bitching, backstabbing, violence and sheer unadulterated stupidity... That 'happy' music ?
VS
Metal...
where they scream.. "We are given the gift of creation. We are given all of the light and purity of the universe..."
or, musically speaking,
Pop with it's flowing rhythm made up of an extensive repertoire of the same 3 guitar chords repeated over and over from start to end.
VS
Metal guitar work that is so complex, intricate, delicate and so close to the pinnacle of expert musicianship that most people can study guitar for decades and still not be able to play all that they had hoped for.
Lest we forget that when Mozart was playing live, that was considered the cutting edge of the heaviest music conceived at the time.
When you become happier on a raw diet, wouldn't you want to listen to something meaningful, instead of wasting your ear's attention and precious brain cells on what sounds like the ravings of a drug addicted teenager.
You would think that the clarity of mind that goes along with a raw diet, would steer people away from the music of the sheep.
Permalink Reply by Carlie on July 20, 2012 at 1:18am Yeah! Just saying that that hasnt changed:) um, but i did appreciate other kinds of music though i wouldnt normally listen to. or at least i wouldnt mind them. except for commercial music as always! it should die
Permalink Reply by Rephaim Roq on October 3, 2012 at 10:24pm The only purpose of Pop music is to make money . There is no message lyrically , or innovation musically . Thank God for itunes and youtube and such . Or many artists would never see the light of day . Actual talent would be overlooked entirely unless they act like the industry wants . Completely marketable with just the right "look" . Since when can we look at sound ? last time I checked those were two totally different senses. Almost every Genre has sold out to corporate greed . That's why it's important to support your local bands, and your not so local bands that haven't lost their integrity . Alot like we support 30BaD because we identify on a deeper level . We are here based on our desire to do better , and be better Humans for ourselves and for each other .

Permalink Reply by warren maruschak on July 20, 2012 at 2:17am I feel less angry myself, but I still love the music. some of my favourites are The Legendary Pink Dots, Skinny Puppy, Numb, Front Line Assembly, The Tear Garden. The only commercial music I can listen to are bands like Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd.
