Adelaidians: where you can get 13kg + of ripe banana's for $5!

For the last 3 weeks on every Saturday I've been going to Mariana market (72 - 80 Grote Street)to buy a 13kg box of bananas for $5!

Theses bananas aren't organic, but for such a ridiculous price I don't mind! Mariana's also sell alot of other cheap fruit... fresh dates for $14 a kg (and they aren't glucose coated... I checked)... and sometimes they confuse the dates with dried figs so I get them for $8 a kilo... i've gotten 10 fresh dates for $2 once! sooo good!!!!

 a couple of weeks ago they had nectarines and peaches for 50 cents a kilo... went home with 5kg of stone fruit for $2.50 =D

Most of their stock has to be cleared on Saturdays which is why the food is so cheap! And they let you fill your box of bananas so you can take the better non squashed ones... you just have to head to the back of the store. ( I even hide some extra into my box.. they don't notice)

Yesterday when I went... the lady gave me two free ripe papayas (that they had trouble selling) aswell! which was so awesome cause their usually $4 - $6 each!

Seriously... anyone visiting or living in Adelaide and is living on a budget has to go to Mariana's! (and no.. I don't work there.... but I kinda live there.... the servers know me now and are always bemused by the quantity of fruit I buy!)
