30 Bananas a Day!

In July/August of 2012 I'm planning to do a solo bike tour across the US. It will probably be from New York City to Seattle, Washington. I've never been to the US before so I have no connections. But from what I can make out, there seem to be a lot of people from there on this blog. Basically I was wondering if there would be people who are willing to lend me a sofa for a night or two as I pass by your states.

I hope to be doing this bike tour to try and pass on the message of this forum about this lifestyle. I'm thinking it will last about 3 months maximum (maybe more if I want to chill somewhere)

I plan to be going through the states:

New York

Pensilvania

Ohio

Indiana

Illinois

Wisconsin

Minisota

North Dakota (or south)

Montana

Washington

If anyone has ever done anything like this before, it would be great if you could offer some advice :)

If you would like to get in contact with me, but want to keep your info private, just send me an private message on my page.

Thanks very much everybody. Lets spread the word.

doesnt look like you will be passing thru colorado, but if you where you could totally crash on my couch! good luck to you on your journey!!

Hello! I was excited to read your post as I will be also cycling across america. I currently live in Minnesota and will be biking to my Hometown Seattle, WA. If you would like to meet up at some point or need I place to stay in Washington I can probably help you out. It is so inspiring to hear that there are others that are excited about this lifestyle and want to share the message!! I wish you all the best and hope to hear from you soon!

Hey Jonathan!

That would be so awesome if we could meet at some point in the trip! I've changed my plans and I will be cycling from Casper, Wisconsin to New York City. I will be starting on July 7th I think, or around that time. It will take me 40 days. How are you planning to do it in terms of food?

Ok looks like we are going opposite directions but possibly we could meet if you are passing through Minnesota for some reason. For food I will be dehydrating dates and bananas for backups when I can't get fresh fruit from a store. I also eat nuts so I will be taking some as well. Other than that I will be buying fresh produce every day and foraging some wild fruits as well! =) What got you interested in raw foods and bicycle touring lol It is so strange to meet people that have these same peculiar interests lol =)
