How long until my acne goes away? Just a tiny bit on my forehead, nothing serious, but i'd rather be perfect.
Here is my info: I last had cooked food 10 days ago, but have been 80-90% LFRV for about 3 months (I intend to be 100% from now on. the binges are over). I drink 2-4L H2O every day and pee clear. I get vigorous exercise 2-7x/week. bedtime somewhere between 9pm and 3am. i sleep 6-9 hours/night. I get lots of sunshine. Past health history is, I'm a lifelong vegetarian, but before I started LFRV I ate plenty of pasta, cheese, cooked veggies, etc. along with occasional potato chips/ice cream/pizza/cookies/soda.
will waiting it out on 100% LFRV be enough to chase away the acne, if so how long will it take, and is it possible that even on LFRV the acne will stick around if i am frequently under high stress? (i'm not stressed about anything, just curious what you guys think the effects of LFRV/high stress combo would have on acne)
I too had acne (not bad though) which only started in my late teens/early twenties. It was totally annoying because it wasn't super bad but was noticeable and so I still had to wear makeup to cover it up. I thought it was purely stress related, and since it wasn't what people would consider "bad" acne I thought maybe it was just the way things were for me. I have come to find that although I was doing some things right, I was not doing things 100%, resulting in less than 100% skin clarity. Stress may very well be a key factor, but I think going 100% LFRV will definitely help with the flare ups. To give you a time reference it took me about one month hardcore 80 10 10 to start seeing ANY results, which was very discouraging at first. I started drinking about 5 liters a day, staying low fat (90 5 5), and stopped being so rough with my skin.... Don't pick or scrub too hard! I also had to work on getting my 10 hours of sleep which I know can be IMPOSSIBLE for a college student but you gotta try. Also, little secret... coconut oil... don't eat it lol but I have sensitive skin as well as as weird dry spots which overproduce oil and result in acne, so I find it is great to use on my face. I also was told by a dermatologist that it can help with acne scars (or what is called staining) from past acne, and staining can be just as bad as the acne itself sometimes. I definitely have some staining left over from places I use to have flare ups and I find the coconut oil has been a nice gentle way to condition my skin as well as help it heal, resulting in that "perfect" look I too am aiming for. :)

another similar thing to coconut oil you could try which i have done and feels really good is mash 1/2 an avocado w/ 1 tablespoon olive oil and 1 sunflower oil and smear that on your face, let it sit for 20 min or so. creates great softness and my favorite part is you can really feel it working.
Permalink Reply by Heather Bhagat on August 28, 2011 at 4:50am It'll take a while. My acne hasn't fully cleared up yet. But its so much better now, I always get compliments on my skin. I'm 100% for 5 months (I'm not counting in the time i was 80% for a couple months).
Get rid of the cooked food and your acne will clear up :) I can't tell you how long it'll take, everyone's body is different, but my guess would be 1 month+ and your skin will start looking better within a few days of eating fully raw. GL :)
