I thought the blender was making loud noises... lol. As I was drinking it I had to spit a chunk out.
Just curious, could that have been bad? Are date pits toxic? Do they contain anything thats bad for us? I didn't eat that one chunk I spit out...but the rest I drank with my smoothie. Guess If I feel ok then there's nothin to worry about.
Nevermind I guess lol. I rinsed my blender out after I finished...and what do ya know the other chunk of the date pit was at the bottom. So I didnt drink the pit lol, the whole thing was still intact in there. I might have gotten specks of it from it being thrashed around in there, but nothing much.
Still curious though are they ok to accidental consume? one webpage I came across said it was ok.
Neato! Is it raw by any chance? Recipes?

Oh man, I've accidently blended date pits in my Vitamix dozens of times. Vitamixes are pretty tough and can easily pulverise a date pit with no problem. As a matter of fact, one time I was making a smoothie and when I tried to stir it with a spoon it was a little too thick so I added some water and then I hit the blend button again and when I did the machine suddenly started making this really loud and strange sound so I I turned it off and looked inside and realized that I had accidently left the metal spoon inside and it got bent up so bad that it looked kind of like a box spring.
I just had a really nutty tasting smoothie, i was like WTF? till i realized it was a date pit. There goes my 5 months without nuts LOL!
Adam, consider yourself a visionary!
Fast forward some years in time (to 2015 - it was published in some research paper around that year), and apparently date seeds are healthy for you and should be consumed with your daily Pomegranate and Date (as in with the seeds!) smoothie (emphasis on the smooth - not "chunk").
So much so that there is a growing market for the latest vegan coffee alternative (is there any not vegan?) it is called - you guessed it "date seed coffee". You can just google it. Two websites I came across are dateseedcoffee.com and coffee-alternatives.com
Anyway, nice shirt. :p
