30 Bananas a Day!

Hello, moonchildren! I have made a pact with myself to take on and complete Freelee's challenge...lock, stock, and banana!! :D

Anyone who is interested is more than welcome to join in. One straight year of endulging in fresh fruits and veggies, VERY little overt fats, tons of water, tons of sleep, tons of sunshine, plenty of exercise, and lots of quality family time. :D

Much Love,

hey MaryKate

do you have a specific plan for each of those element's of the daily challenge that you are hoping to take on? Have you been eating raw / vegan / veggie / SAD diet up to now?

Love Katie

Hello, Katie-Lou. Well, let's see....I will not be counting calories because I truly feel that Durian Rider and Freelee are correct in claiming that you can eat as many fruits and veggies as you please without gaining fat. I have a good amount of weight to lose but understand that will come in time as my body heals, regenerates, and sheds excess matter. As long as I am consuming ENOUGH calories I will worry no further with it. :) I aim to "cure" dermatitis, overweight, fatigue, and low blood sugar.

In bed going to sleep each night by 9 o'clock, up when my 4 year-old bounces awake. Tons of fruit throughout the day and a continent sized salad in the evening with a small amount of fruit. At least 3 liters of water every day, as much sunshine as our Washington sky will allow for, running....I ran mucho amounts when I was in the Navy but have been lazy for some time now, so I am starting from scratch again. Runner's World has an awesome beginning running plan and I will be following their guidance. Family time....hiking, playing soccer, spending time in the yard together planting flowers, and just getting out into nature more overall. :D:D

Tomorrow is Day 1......SO EXCITED! EEEEEEE

I am slowly preparing myself to do the same. Probably next week I'll be totally ready. My 3 kids will be away for the whole summer, so it's the perfect time for me to get back on track. I'm in WA too so I don't know about the plenty of sunshine part;). While my kids are away I will be able to get enough sleep, it might be different again when they come back:).

Welcome aboard, Myra! We will be here chugging along when you are ready to start. Can't wait to hear of your amazing results. :D

I've lost a lot of weight on HFRV, but gained it all back by indulging in cooked vegan foods and not exercising enough. I have 3 young kids and that makes it difficult for me to stay raw and fit. I've tried to start a LFRV lifestyle many times but have not been successful so far. My kids will leave next Thursday, that will be my official start date. I will increase my fruit intake before that, but I will finish up some cooked vegan foods that I still have in the house. A week and a half ago I was diagnosed with Peanut, Nut, Soy, Flax allergies, which is an extra stimulus for me to get this LFRV lifestyle down this time:).

OH, and I have been inching towards 100 % for quite some time now. I have slowly added raw fruits and veggies with some cooked vegan foods. It is time to take the plunge....once and for all. :D

I just ordered 11lbs. of organic Halawi dates @medjooldates.com. I'm getting ready! As Joss Fossgreen said I think in one of his videos. It's really simple, you just have to eat fruit. I want to keep it simple too. Just eat unlimited fruit. No calorie counting. I did that in the past with an IPhone app and that just does not work for me.
Hi Mary Kate,

Okay, I started today! I'll be feasting on bananas and blueberries. I have grapes and watermelon left over from yesterday, so I'll devour those as well. When I get home I'll toss the hummus & soy-free vegenaise in the trash. I was planning to finish it up, but today I am so ready:). How are things going for you?

So excited for you all!

For me when I started Freelee's challenge, I felt too weak and afraid of failure to commit to 100% raw.  So I made my commitment smaller--no animal products and no processed junk foods.  I had already established the habit of eating my first two meals as fruit and staying within the 80-10-10 ratios, so I continued those habits, but ate cooked food in the evening if I felt like it.  I have stuck to that, and now I have worked my way up after 100 days to 4 raw days in a row.  Now it feels easier to stick to raw without the pressure of having to do it 100%.

I'm not suggesting that you have to do it the same way, but just remember that it doesn't help to set your expectations for yourself so high that you plunge to depths of despair if you don't get it 100% right away.

Best wishes and RAWK ON!

You're doing great Greenmama,

I have to do this 100% raw, because I'm sick of failure. I've been trying to get into this lifestyle for several years, but teasing myself with some cooked foods becomes a problem for me quickly. I'm not strong enough to include cooked food in my lifestyle, but great that it works for you.

Hello, Lovelies! Well, tomorrow is my first official day. I had to wrap up some loose ends and synch the body building plans with my wonderful hubs. Greenmama, you are absolutely right...one step at a time. Unfortunately, with my addictive personality, it's do or die! lol The structure keeps me in line and accountable to myself. I'm a child at heart and need that extra nudge. :D:D

How is the challenge going for everyone else?

Much Love,

MK

Hi,

I'm just checking in. I'm doing good, but not perfect;). I made a few less than good choices, but I learned from them.
1. Have some emergency food in your purse at all times. I now carry some raisins in my bag.
2. Plan your meals well. Today I should have eaten lunch earlier.

It's good to be aware and learn as you go.

I hope all is well with all if you too.
