30 Bananas a Day!

811RV should be renamed 811ORV 'O' for Organic, this is a critical part of health!

When I first went 811RV I read a lot online, and came across quite a bit of discussion on how you can be poisoned by eating huge quantities of traditionally grown fruits and veggies.
When I first went 811RV I thought the organic option was not worth the cost, and the hassle.
Yet after eating a ton of berries, grapes and other grown fruit that is heavily grown with pesticides I found myself not feeling so well.

Then what scared me big time was when I read about a man who was a fruitarian who moved to Thailand to have low cost and exotic fruit. After 5 years he returned to the USA when he came down with colon cancer! This guy was in his early 50's! He used to blog about his treatments and his failing health, and how he thought it was all attributed to his massive intake of fruit grown with harsh and dangerous pesticides. (He was a huge durian fan!) This same guy used to host the website durianPalace.com, the site is down now, b/c this guy died last year!

I now eat 90% organic. It tastes better and it's better for my health and the health of the earth. If you are eating 811, you are taking in massive massive quantities of fruit and veggies over everyone else, and I'm sure if you are eating traditionally grown foods you are potentially in severe long term danger from taking in so many chemicals. Think about it!
So I'm not 811RV, I'm 811ORV! There is a huge difference!

40% fat? Is that right? I thought it was more around 17-20ish?..
i've heard 20-30
Cronometer says they're 65/3/32 (carb/protein/fat).
Thanks for your post Micheal.

I often wonder about this controversial subject. I think it is a valid point that we're consuming far more produce that the average folk...

I happen to eat quite a bit of non-organic fruit - melons, papaya, mangos, sometimes bananas.. Admittedly, i don't know if this is the best choice for my health. There are some fruits, as i understand, that are more toxic - such as berries and grapes - that they say should really not be consumed unless they're organic; these i stay away from. But again, admittedly, i really don't know what to think about it all....
Things are getting complicated a tad. I like to follow my SHD (standard human diet). :)
The only food that I have been eating that isn't organic is papayas and every time I eat them I get a stuffy nose and a strange feeling in my throat after. My body knows something is up. I think I'm going to have to stop eating them now. Cost isn't an issue when it comes to food. I'm willing to spend money to put the best food into my body. It's just that I can't get organic papaya here and they are my favorite fruit...well one of my faves.
no they do not, unless you have a green/hot house. they produce very well in warm, sub/tropic climates. just gotta make sure seeds are organic and non gmo! strawberry papaya is the best, but often gmo (from hawaii)
so whats after organic?
wild crafted, wild foraged.
Growing your own planted and wild self-grown food.
My Dad, a farmer, told me basically this:

"One issue frequently overlooked in the rush to embrace organic agriculture is the prevalence of excess arsenic, lead, cadmium, nickel, mercury, copper, and zinc in organic soil. Soil ecologists and environmentalists—and, to some extent, the concerned public—have known for more than a century that the synthetic pesticides of conventional farming leave heavy metals in the ground. But the fact that you'll find the same toxins in organic soil has been something of a dirty little secret."

as linked here: http://firedoglake.com/2008/09/27/organic-bs-heavy-metals/

This article critisizes that statement with some relevant arguments though, but essentially is just dissing the speculation with only more speculation.

...and further tests show heavy metal levels are actually less in organic http://www.nutrasunfoods.com/nutrition/organic/pesticides/ ...but this link doesn't provide a source, and further sells it. Not unbiased.

I did however read some gross stuff about larvae inside fruit from organic, and that parasites are more of a problem.

In the end though, if you notice a difference when you eat non-organic, maybe I should make the switch to organic.

What are the Worst offenders for pesticide, like the Must switch over to organic for sure?
Check the EWG pesticide guide I posted.
