Yesterday I realized how much I truly love my V6 green juice:
1 lb of leafy greens
1 lb of tomatoes
14 ozs of carrots
1 whole cucumber
6 ozs of celery
6 ozs of bok choy or baby bok choy
smidgeon of pressed garlic
I am starting 100 days of 80/10/10 this Sunday. I wanted to go "by the book" but find that I am in refusal mode when it comes to giving up my green juice. I know it isn't Kosher to drink green juices, with carrots and garlic especially, on 80/10/10 and know the reasoning behind this. However, I NEED my greens and I no longer can drink, nor desire green smoothies.
What is your opinion on this. Thank you!

In any case, save your juice for the end of the day.
As for refusal mode, that's merely habit. If you wanted to, you could substitute that with the habit of not juicing. Same with me: when I have cooked carbs one evening, I want to have them every evening. But after three days of raw, that idea doesn't come to my mind anymore.

I was like you when I started hcrv. I had a green juice almost everyday and I absolutely loved them. I would have one after work and they relaxed me. Celery, carrot, cucumber, spinach/romaine and cilantro was my favorite juice. But here in the last month or so, my want for them has completely faded. I do, however, still like my wheatgrass juice. I try to have a couple of ounces a week.
Now that I am eating more greens instead of drinking them, I feel better.

LOL I'm going with what I am wanting and sticking with it - the V6. The other parts of the program I have no problem with at all and I feel very committed. I agree that at some point my body will probably not want it anymore. The best way for us to eat healthier is naturally.
Permalink Reply by ORGANIC811LFRV on May 24, 2012 at 11:59pm Thanks GrapeNut. And I agree with Dr. G. I simply love my greens. Unfortunately I am only using the milder greens in my juices. Mainly because they go better through the juicer I'm using. I'll use more of the kales and chards in my salads now I guess.
Have a wonderful day my friend. So glad you liked my fabulous recipe.
Permalink Reply by Sultana on May 29, 2012 at 1:14am Not at all neccessary to eat Kale, or Collards, or any bitter green if you're not enjoying the taste.
Tender leafy greens are optimal, such as romaine, butter lettuce, mache, etc.
Those other greens are high in oxalic acid which in large quanitites can interfere with the absorbtion of minerals, especially calcium. So no need to force them down if you don't really like them in the first place.

Prior to my 92 day juice feast I was drinking those tougher greens daily in 2 quarts of green smoothie. Maybe that is why I was soooo gassy? LOL I was truly shocked that my desire was nul and void after the juice feasting. I may again change back, but truly I am loving what I'm doing and feeling wonderful.
Permalink Reply by Nichole D on May 29, 2012 at 12:49am In my personal opinion I feel that those are extremely healthy veggies. I went back to drinking my geen juice in the morning and I feel so much better. I am in refusal mode to give it up too. LOL. I think that if it works for you Karen, then do it as long as it benefits your mind, body, happiness, and earth. I eat fruit exclusively throughout the day and we won't speak of my failures at night but I plan on getting some help with my failures through overeaters anonymous. (too many self hatred issues to deal with alone)
Permalink Reply by ORGANIC811LFRV on May 29, 2012 at 1:00am Nicole, thank you for your wonderful support. You have a very loving heart, you are courageous, open, honest and you are a good 30BAD friend Honestly my opinion on self-hatred is it has more to do than you can imagine, with the stored toxins from the phakephood we have ingested. My "suggestion" to you is to force - yes FORCE yourself away from the night time binges, etc, whatever you call it and to eat a huge salad and see how you feel about yourself in 30 days. You can also of course do OA it's not intrusive at all. You can even have me as a daily accountability buddy actually. I am very familiar with that issues.
Overt fats - even raw ones are the beginning of the end for me. I've had 3 days straight with overt fats and can sense a difference. This is why I need to have most of my week freed of them. My situation requires my trial and error on lfrv recipes and I must have my own fixins'. So I think I'll live with one day a week of overt fats.
My own experience of detoxing on a juice feast was clarity that is truly remarkable on the connection between chemicals in non-raw low fat food and how my addictions were effected. Now instead of thinking I have a personal problem, I see it as a PHood sensitivity. Does this make any sense??
I call my V6 my "joy juice". LOL
Permalink Reply by Nichole D on May 29, 2012 at 2:27am It totally does make sense. It's great that you can have so much clarity on even noticing your phood sensitivity, I only have moments of clarity. I am stuck in the problematic thinking phase. I will definately be buying tons of lettuce tomarrow to get off of the eating binges on junk. I will just try to force myself to eat salad instead at night like you suggested. I really hope I can Karen cause I just feel so stuck, lonely, and totally mentally exausted! I already consider you as my buddy and I would adore it if you could help me be accountable even when I fail. Thank you. =)
Permalink Reply by ORGANIC811LFRV on May 29, 2012 at 2:32am Nicole, it isn't YOU that is failing. It is the toxic load you have in your system that is leading you to fail. Stop blaming yourself hon.
Until you can get yourself to the point of doing a 60 to 92 day juice feast it is going to leave your system slowly, but it will leave. Anytime you are craving sweets do fruit. Anytime you are craving salt eat sodium rich tomatoes and celery in a salad or just by themselves.
I want to hear from you daily on your successes. If you blog daily I want to read them. It's a deal!!!
Permalink Reply by dangermouse on May 29, 2012 at 2:36am I'm curious what volume of juice you get out of all that.
