In the past few years, I had some pretty traumatic emotional upsets. I was in a pretty awful relationship and it created a cycle of binge eating feeling awful about myself and restricting then binging all over again. After the birth of "our" last child I have ended up at a whopping 201 pounds. I have since ended said relationship and am ready to reclaim my life.
My dream has always been to compete in a fitness competition. I used to be fit and a strength trainer. I've toyed with the idea of 811 several times but somehow fear or food addiction always gets the best of me. I figure it's summer time so it's the perfect time. I would really love your support and encouragement and I will stay connect and keep posts and pictures over my 90 day transformation and beyond. I am hoping to make this a lifestyle! Your support is greatly appreciated :)

I'm looking forward to see your progress =D

I think a lot of successful 811ers have benefited greatly from long-term goals such as this. It can really help us get over the little bumps in the road if we have something long-term we're working towards. I find Tim Van Orden to have some good motivational videos for the pursuit of long-term fitness goals. Find him on youtube if you haven't already. And, of course, Freelee and DR are great examples - in terms of fitness, DR has as much to teach as anyone on the planet, imho.

Destructive relationships wreak havoc on us. I'm happy to hear you're moving on and are ready to take your health into your own hands (that's the best place for it :). About restricting-and-binging. The key is to eliminate the restricting. The binging is a direct results of the restricting, so remove the problem the way you pluck a weed from its roots. Stop restricting... buuuut.... make sure you're eating the right foods! If you stick with the 811 program (as many aspects as possible) and eat enough calories, the cycle of restrict-binge will become part of your past, where it belongs :)
Wishing you luck. Keep us posted on your progress and feel free to ask any questions you like on the forum :)

I've done a lot of "emotional eating" in the past, too.
811, especially HCRV 811, works better to control food addiction than anything else I've tried. I've just recently come back to it after sliding back into old eating habits.
Even though it's "emotional eating," the reason it happens is because the food we binge with has addictive properties, right? Food Addicts Anonymous calls overeating/food addiction "a biochemical disease" (ie, NOT a lack of will or a character flaw). I would bet that most of the Western world is addicted to food to one degree or another.
What I love about 811 HCRV, in addition to it being healthful, eco-friendly and animal-friendly, is that it is so delicious and so nourishing, but has absolutely no addictive properties. And you can eat as much as you want!
My personal advice is, if you can, you should empty your kitchen of all non-811 HCRV products. Really try to go completely raw. I find that once I start considering cooked foods, even if they fit the 811 ratio, it turns into a really slippery slope. No matter what, always be sure you have more than enough fruit and H2O on hand!
I hope you have great success with this. After a week of this lifestyle, you'll feel like a completely different person-- and so much lighter, emotionally as well as physically!
: )

This is what I love about it as well, among so many other things :)
