Hey people!
Would love some feedback on your experiences with bananas and candida ...
I've just finished a 5-day water fast to help rebalance my candida overgrowth, and wondering whether bananas are the best fruit option to now go with?
If not, which fruits might you recommend?
After eating bananas, I've often found that my cheeks go red, and after a few days I have lots of speckles and some zits appear. What's the deal?
With love and gratitude,
Dan
Permalink Reply by PK on March 14, 2012 at 7:46am Candida is usually a pre diabetic condition that results from eating high fat and high carb diets. The fats sludge up the blood and lymph system and then the cells cannot absorb carbs and other nutrients. This results in high blood sugar. Candida is not a bad thing, rather a life saving measure that blooms and eats the excess blood sugar.
To avoid candida, make sure you are eating fat free and raw fruits and leafy greens.
Now if you have an allergy to bananas, that is a different story. But that is ok, there are other calorie dense fruits like mango and papaya you can enjoy.
Peace, PK

Thanks so much!
Yea, have been on 80/10/10 for 6 months or so now ... gone without overt fats for 3 weeks or so (plus did my fasting to clear out some gunk) ...
My digestion is weak right now (with exhausted pancreas, adrenals, colitis) and it seems like I'm allergic to most fruits (just had some pears today to break my fast and my nose was running and all kinds of stuff!).
Curious ... what would you do if you were allergic to all of the fruits in season right now? Go with some yams or grains instead?
Any suggestions and ideas much appreciated!
With love and gratitude,
Dan
Permalink Reply by NathanB on March 14, 2012 at 8:29am It's very unusual to be allergic to pears, almost 1-in-a-million. Because of this they're commonly used in elimination diets.
Permalink Reply by DJ on March 14, 2012 at 9:00am Hmm! Thought it was fairly common (caused by birch pollen allergy) ...
Thanks for your guidance! :)
Permalink Reply by Myca on March 14, 2012 at 4:13pm When I first started on 811, I ate bananas. Sometimes they made me a little sick and I burped them for while Since they didn´t make me too sick I kept eating them and that went away. I eat mangoes everyday. They broke out my lips, my gums, my tongue, peel the skin off the roof of my mouth. I would quit eating them, heal everything up and start again. This went on for a couple of months. I noticed here lately, mangoes don´t break out my mouth any more.
