Im going for a long trip 30 hours one way.
Im most conserned regarding water. Since i really like clean distilled water and i know its really important. And at airports etc you can only get s***ty water. So how do you guys do it ?

What airline are you flying with?
You can bring dates, bananas, sultanas, raw bars, and greens such as lettuce and celery on all international flights. This should serve you just fine. If you're flying with Delta, Cathay Pacific, or Korean Air you will experience exceptional service, as you will receive a full meal of often ripe fruit with no questions asked. Not only this, but you can eat as much fruit as you care for.

Often I get them to fill up my bottle full a few times before landing. They're always more than happy to accommodate.

So you're saying if I opt for a "raw fruit meal" I can pretty much enjoy a fruit buffet, or am I limited to what is presented to me? I was under the impression that you had to only eat what was given to you on that little tray, which is so minimal and unfulfilling... I was so ready to bring tons of bananas and sultanas and dates on-board to fill the void!
Permalink Reply by Tarah @ 40 Below Fruity on April 25, 2011 at 8:18am It depends, Kam. On both Cathay Pacific and Korean Air I was provided with as much fruit as I cared for. That being said, they probably wouldn't provide you with more than 4 or so trays. Compared to what I receive when I fly Air Canada, Westjet, Vayama, and others I felt like Royalty.
Definitely bring bananas dates and sultanas, though as the fruit may not always be ripe and definitely not organic. You're always better off bringing enough and enjoying any extra as a benefit.
You could always get a portable water filter, like on of these:

You'd have to do a little research to see if they are the kind of filter you want, but it beats airport fountain water.
