Who's up to it?
I mean cold water only, no switching!
I am starting tomorrow!
1-2 showers a day.
No soap, no shampoo, just cold water.
How cold?
As cold as it gets ;)

Permalink Reply by Mera/Feather Story on July 5, 2012 at 10:52pm I can relate to warm showers as motivation in the morning...but after getting into cold showers it just doesn't do it for me...I actually became intolerable of them during my first pregnancy and it just became a habit...since then, rather I took cold showers or not, warm showers weren't as appealing, but I would still want to take them sometimes. Since its summer here, I have no desire to do so...and my skin and hair don't feel good afterwards...but I'm really surprised that your showers were painful in Kenya...that must be remarkably cold water.
There are techniques though...to ease into it, I'm just the type to jump right in at this point...but I wasn't like that my first few years doing cold showers. I do remember one time when I was living in the mountains and bathing in the streams that it was really, really cold and my feet would feel frozen sometimes, but the rest of my body was fine. Standing in a super cold natural stream/pool was uncomfortable if I didn't move my feet around.
