Hello everyone, I'm starting a challenge myself this Saturday(7/7), I've been eating a LOT of added salt lately and really too much fat. I've even slipped up once and ate something that contained powdered SOY MILK!!!!! UGHHH!!!! I've been too leanient lately and not being as strict and aware as I should be! My challenge is this:
First and Foremost, absolutely NO ANIMAL products, literally check every label twice if you must!
Get 8-10 hours of sleep EVERY night
Try to play outside everyday for vitamin D
Less than 10% fat calories each day
No added salts (I know, tough one), only those naturally occuring
Strictly: 2 fruit meals and 1 cooked meal
No fried foods, of course
Plenty of water (I aim for 1.5 gallons most days, but some people do less)
I'll be tracking my progress here, so you can follow and keep me on track if you'd like:) Also if anyone wants to join me I'd love the company. Anyone who's joining me can also give me ideas on the vital things I've missed. Thanks everyone! I won't let you all down!

L: Iceburg romaine salad mix(1.3 bags), 1 lg chopped cucumber, 3 tomatoes blended with 5 basil leaves, 2 kiwifruits, 1/2 yellow canteloupe
D: 1/2 avacodo, 10 medjool dates, 1 cup dried cherries
Sleep: 9 hours
Water: 7.5 liters
Sunlight: 10-15 minutes
Total calories: 3040
Today was great! I felt very good throughout the whole day:) I also starting taking a B12 supplement cause I know I definately need it and at the time I can't afford the shots at the doctor's office. I've found that supermarkets put produce on sale for great prices and other stores price match so I can buy what is on sale and get only a few of the other more expensive items I want. Bananas are saving my Budget though. Thank you Lord that they're so cheap! But I'm really gonna give this a go. Rice sounds good but melon and bananas is just as good to me for now:) I've craved salt a lot today but it's probably gonna take some time for me to lose my addiction to it. I can't believe how much salt I used to eat between my meals, especially at RESTAURANTS! I'm just glad I'm not taking in anywhere near as much now. Wish me luck, I'm gonna get this!

Permalink Reply by Elisa Oras on July 16, 2012 at 9:29pm I did some B12 shots in december. i bought it from pharmacy (needles and everything) and my boyfriend did the shots at first (we watched some youtube tutorials first :P) but then my boyfriend was away for a week and i learned how to do it myself. so you dont need a doctor to do it and it is very cheap.
and i know what you mean about missing salt. i was ADDICTED, it was the hardest thing for me to give up. but now i dont miss it AT ALL! its so good to be free from it. it took me about 2-4 weeks to get use to it and dont crave it anymore.
Next week im gonna travel for one week. We have a plane to catch from Perth (Australia) to Bangkok :), have to drive about 2300 km. soooo...im not sure how can i post here. BUT im probably gonna be raw that week, since i have previous experience that its the easiest and best way to travel by car - no need for preparation or dishes, no cooking - just peel or cut and eat and then no worry about rubbish :)
so i probably wont post here next week :( but when im in Bangkok i will definitely post and you see me eating Durian and all kinds of tropical fruits :D probably gonna be mostly raw also. we wanna go to this raw restaurant there as well :)
Permalink Reply by Ashlee on July 18, 2012 at 1:27am Yeah, I'd love to do the shots myself, if only I didn't need a prescription to do them:/ I think we do here in the U.S. I've been taking the supplement and I feel a lot better after taking it.
& really? I've never been to Australia or Bangkok, I bet they're both very beautiful. Ha, I've also never had a durian before so you'll have to make a video or take a picture of you eating it and tell how wonderful it is:) maybe I could order one off the internet to have one:) Enjoy your trip and travel safely! Have a great time

Permalink Reply by Ashlee on July 10, 2012 at 3:43pm Hey Girl! I'm still here, I just had a delimma and I'm finally back on Earth i feel. My boyfriend got REALLY sick from eating at a restaurant the other night(go figure) and we were in the hospital for a while then after that I got to go home with him and take care of him. He's fully recovered(almost) now so I've stopped worrying so much but my nutrition took a back-seat there for a second because of the lack of food or-appetite even.
BUT, I'm back now, sorry for the delay but I'm definately learning to take a bag of fruit with me everywhere just in case the unexpected happens(in my case it always does, lol) I'm back and I won't let this happen again. Here's to our end results on day 30! :D
Permalink Reply by Ashlee on July 18, 2012 at 1:18am Day 10:
B: 1 white peach, 1/2 yellow honeydew melon, 2 med. Bananas
L:1 kiwifruit, 2 lg oranges, 14 medjool dates, 1 med. tomato
D: 19 dates, 6 kiwifruits, 1.3 lg. tomatoes, 1/2 yellow canteloupe, 1/2 avacado, 3 cups spinach leaves, 1 cucumber, & 1 orange blended with basil and dill for salad dressing:9
Day 2 was so much easier than day 1 with avoiding salt. since I do work at a restaurant I smell it all day and my mouth used to water for it and all the condiments around(I know, yuck!) But I know once I get this job at the bank I'll be in a greater position and not feeling tempted towards bad foods. I'm really actually feeling lighter now that cooked foods are out of my diet. When I wake up I feel a lot skinner than before and my stomach is only full for about 30 minutes- 1 hour after I eat:) I really am noticing some changes in my energy too. I used to feel sluggish after my cooked dinner sometimes but now I feel excited like I have to move, lol! But each of us are different and I feel that maybe it was a good idea for me to change, although I do miss rice:/ but I'll take it one day at a time and before I know it I'll be at the peak of my performance and appearance:)
