---------------------Day 16--------------------
Sooo today was hilariously odd with my body. My nose and sinuses are totally clogged up (getting sick? who knows) so didn't sleep much last night. Tried sleeping outside and inside and neither was doable so I got up around 9 and went for the 16mi ride. Got myself a new cycling helmet which is great since my last one looked like it had survived a couple world wars. Then worked from 2-9pm at the juice bar, totally exhausted from being sick. I would get moments of wanting to crumble into a sleepy pile and moments of energy. After work I had one of these moment of energy, felt like I wanted to stretch my limbs: jogged and sprinted a bit, in the dark. Sooo...Odd, no?
BK: 4 champagne mangoes, 2 bananas, 1/2 c blueberries
-went for a 16 mi ride on the road bike with some sprints, some easy going stretches.
LN: 4 champagne mangoes, smoothie ( 4 bananas, 1 c blueberries)
SN: 2 c leftover smoothie from work (bananas, almond milk, blueberries, strawberries) (orange juice, mango strawberries banana)
DR: smoothie (5 bananas, 1 c blueberries, mint, 1 c spinach) 1 banana
EXERCISE: 16mi bike ride in the morning. A couple sprint loops, mostly a decent pace. Then after work around 9pm spontaneous jogging lol (699 cals)
SLEEP: 6 hrs? I'm getting sick and My nose is so stuffed up I couldn't breath or sleep much last night.
WATER: Whhhaaaaaaaterrrrr. 3.5 litres, still feeling dehydrated or something
FEELINGS: Eh. Today was fun but odd. I met this girl who was really interested to see my site on the promotion of a raw vegan lifestyle (www.SolarPoweredHealth.com) go somewhere. I was able to show her TED talks, we talked about sexism and it's curious and cutting dismissal by our society. Yet while boys are getting t-shirts "future president" at baby showers, girls are getting "little princess", "juicy", perfumes, or other items geared towards sex or appearance immediately after birth, NOT accomplishment and hardly a chance for anything else- and this isn't a problem?
Solidified tonight that my next event is going to be the 29th of July for HCRV food tasting. A bit of stress around that, fears of not preparing well enough or disappointing my guests or whatever, but, jumped on the internet and am working to have all my ducks in a row and it's all about just getting it done.

LN, 1:51pm: 3 champagne mangoes, 1 banana, 1 sm green apple, fresh Juice (4 lemons, 3 large carrots, 4 celery sticks, 1 kale leaf, 1/2 sm cucumber, sprig parsley)
SN:cucumber and beet salad with pineapple/lemon/celery juiced for dressing. 1.5 c fresh pineapple, 2 c smoothie (kale, spinach, pineapple)
DR: smoothie (1 c blueberry, 1 date, 4 bananas, water, 1 c spinach) 2 champagne mangoes
EXERCISE: 40 mi bike ride. (2621 cals) Strava didn't record the whole thing but it was a good one. Gimbels Ride, short course, sprints and hills and the whole shizaam. (short=40, medium=50 long=60mi)
SLEEP: 7 hrs
WATER: 5 litres, only had one 24oz bottle on the 40mi ride and made up for it after
FEELINGS: Besides the fact that I'd really love to be DR and Freelee's employee for finding the best fruit? That it'd be great to finally have something aligned with my life passion really fall into place? Hahah, Today was a great day. Glad I did the ride, glad I worked after at the juice bar until I closed the yoga studio. It's $10/hr=less than $10/hr after taxes but hey. At least I'm working, and working at a place relatively aligned with my life passions (healthful living). After I move to the Bronx this month I'll likely have to find work that makes more sense for me logistically. ...And I can't believe I'm up this late.

Permalink Reply by Anastasia/Champagne Mango on July 16, 2012 at 1:26pm Got my father on the bike today, visiting from Russia for the first time in years. He wants to now buy a bike! Score healthy living.
I tried to give him my 80/10/10 book after a discussion about fasting (he’d like to get healthier, sort of). He told me he had tried fasting and enjoyed the break from heavy foods. He wasn’t ready to take the book yet, but getting on the bike is a great gateway drug to health and happiness.

1. Excited for the interview for Juice Bar Lead in Greenwich village, NYC with salary, health benefits etc. Wish me luck!! Excited for it since I'd be a great match for it, interview is tomorrow at 9am and I hope I get it since I'd be good at it. Also that's fulfilling my dream of working at a job I love in NYC and living in NYC-perfect timing Universe! Well, that's if I get it...no guarantees, but I'll try my best, and fingers crossed I'll get a job I'd be great at!
2. Today at work (yoga studio/juice bar) had fun discussing building towards the future and details about the Tasting coming up. I love working towards event-throwing that I'm passionate about, knowing a lot of good people will come to my tasting and having friend support in throwing it-I'm a lot more confident now that I know I'll have help throwing the party and will have a juicing partner.
3. I also love having friends as into fitness as I am, that push me to be better. You explore the world, have fun getting to know good people better, and get better at your craft all in one!

----------------Day 20-----------------
Got out and about today, meandering in NYC in between meetings; walking for hours, jogging in the evening in interview clothes lol, from Wallstreet to Grand central...I loved the feeling of rigorous exercise, no excuses. That's a quality I really appreciate and I'm glad I have it. Odd how I desired less food, moving my body so much. Just interesting how we choose to fill our time. Brought all my own food too ;)
BK: smoothie ( 5 bananas, 1c strawberries, mint, 2 dates, water)
LN:8 dates, 5 champagne mangoes
DR: 2 c strawberries, 1 Green apple, 3 c grapes
(2,039 cals)
EXERCISE: walking in NYC from 8:30am-3pm (5 mi), jog from event in wallstreet area back to Grand Central Station (3.3mi)(674 cals)
WATER: 3litres
SLEEP: 6hrs sleep needed more. Had a vibrant dream about a friend doing a ballet demonstration in a green sequin dress in a dance hall
FEELINGS: glad I jogged back from wallstreet today. I was wearing flats and nice clothes, but where there's a will there's a way. It felt so good and I was like, f*** it I'm doing this. Grateful a friend asked me out to a self-empowerment conference today in nyc too; was nice to get out there for an event with people, and especially after my interview this morning. Good to connect and get out there in the world, and I'm very happy
Freelee Frugivore wants to extend what we have into something continuing beyond our 30 days. Truly, this has really been helpful for me, and I'm glad to what I've contributed to others. It's all about giving and symbiosis=a win win situation. :)

----------------Day 21-----------------
Woke up a lb lighter. Yes weight on the scale isn't totally reliable etc, but I've lost 9 lbs on the scale and that's hard to argue against. So an almost 10lb weightloss just by going 100% ain't bad, and I'm certainly going in the right direction. Pic is: Rachael and I making raw vegan marinara and zucchini noodles with red bell pepper
BK: smoothie (5 bananas, 1 c spinach, 1/2 c blueberries, mint, water)
LN: 3 dates, leftover smoothie from work (1 c orange juice, 1/2 c mango, 1/2 c strawberry, 1/2 banana)+(1 cup almond milk, 1 c bluberries)
DR: 3 c grapes, 1 apple, 12 clementines, 1 cauliflower floret
EXERCISE: Feet had huge blisters from running the length of NYC in flats yesterday, so none
WATER: 3 litres but my lips are really dry for some reason
SLEEP: lol, 6.5
FEELINGS: Made raw food over at Rachael's apt! I'm so glad to have friends in my life aligned with my values-and personality as well. Just a note-I've met raw foodists that I don't get along with for one reason or another, like oil and water. I had a disappointing experience recently with one, so it was refreshing to be hanging with what truly feels like my flock; people who really want you to achieve your goals and are working towards their goals while supporting yours as well. Rachael's a really good person. She, like me, has chosen to have action towards positivity, not reaction towards negativity in her life, through her tough experiences, and I'm glad we're friends and can support each other going forward. In the same vein, it was nice to go see my superhero/cyclist/BF after the disappointing experience of oil/water raw foodist relationship, to run up the stairs and say "I missed you!" as I collapsed into his arms with kisses and to know he loved me for me and wants me to succeed. Just saying.
