Emotional Poise: All is back to normal with the hubs. He discovered that he lost 10 pounds since being vegan, and he’s all happy once again. lol. Been having some digestive issues~hiccups and what feels like a hiatal hernia in my esophagus.
I’m noticing how irregular my sleep patterns are and would like to improve there. Also, just not enough hydration. I really felt it yesterday and pee wasn't clear by end of day. I’ve decided to blend a watermelon and drink that throughout the day. That’s always good for a hydration boost.
Good day all.

Oh, I didn't keep track very well today. Getting ready for the Ramadan fast. I ate two 2# banana smoothies and then proceeded to drink a huge pitcher (96-112oz?) of watermelon, strawberries and cantaloupe blend throughout the rest of the day. I don't know why I'm not eating any greens. I've eaten very few throughout this challenge...normally I eat a great large salad for dinner every evening. I'm going to try to add them during the fast.
Water: 2 liters
Exercise: 30 mins cardio
Sleep: 8 hours
Feelings: feeling pretty well, a bit anxious about the fast. We got up at 3 AM for our morning meal, so we're ready to go! going out this morning in search of peaches.

2# bananas
2# peaches
3 cups watermelon and strawberry blend
Calories about 1500 calories 90/6/4
water: < 1 liter
exercise: none
sleep: 8 hours (could have used more, but had to get up early), plus a 1 hour nap.
feelings: first day of Ramadan fast and it was challenging, surprised to feel so lethargic and headachy. I didn’t get nearly enough calories or water in tonight. Gotta work on a better strategy: I broke fast at 8:23 pm and then went to bed at 10 PM, so the 1500 calories was eaten in the hour before I went to bed. I need at least 500-1000 calories more, but when?? lol Ah well, only the first day, it will all even out as I proceed.
Permalink Reply by Zeta Reticuli on June 26, 2012 at 1:24am This is an unusual day for me. I ran the farm out of Bananas last week, so I have to wait about a week to get more. I still have a couple of hundred, only 36 are ripe, but I'll have to space them throughout the next couple of days, because the rest just aren't ripening quickly enough. So I've gone today without any Bananas at all (which, for me, is like dropping me into some kinda twilight zone).
My targets:
5000 calories
Macro-Nutrient Ratio - | 92 Carbs | 4 Protein | 4 Fat |
I do not meet these targets when my supply of Bananas runs short.
Day 1
Sleep:
6.5 Hours
Breakfast:
1 Large Red Papaya
[335 cal]
Morning Tea:
1/4 Watermelon (2.5kg)
[750 cal]
Lunch: Salad
1 Beet Root+Greens
1/2 Head Green Lettuce
1/2 Head Red Lettuce
50 Cherry Tomatoes
[275 Cal]
After Workout Replenishment:
4 cups Freshly Squeezed Orange Juice
[446 cal]
Afternoon Tea:
4 Medium Granny Smith Apples
[378cal]
Dinner:
Skipped straight to Desert to go to bed early
Desert:
1/4 Watermelon (2.5kg)
[750 cal]
Exercise:
Digging in Garden for 30mins.
Pull-Ups - 8
Pull-Ups+Leg-Ups - 7
Pull-Up Negatives - 12
Water:
3.5 Litres
Total Calories: 2934
Macro-Nutrient: | 89 Carbs | 6 Protein | 5 Fat |
Notes:
- Most of my Bananas are not ripe yet.
- Today was a short day (skipped a meal) as I will be going to bed about 5 hours earlier than last night. (Went to bed at 7am last night. I'm a really bad nightowl).
- Today's Watermelon & Apples Not Organic.
Feelings:
Slightly under-carbed until the Orange Juice,
as the papaya & melon were far less calories than the Bananas I usually eat for those meals.
Permalink Reply by Zeta Reticuli on June 26, 2012 at 4:47pm Corrections for Day 1:
By the time I went to bed I had actually drank over 5L of water.
The puny amount of Watermelon an hour before bed didn't keep me satisfied. Went to bed feeling slightly hungry. Squirmed around the bed for an hour, at which point one of the kids woke up. After taking care of that, I decided I wasn't going to sleep without carbing up.
I ate 5 of my ripest Bananas, adding 525 calories to the day's total. After that I slept wonderfully.
Day 1 Total Calories: 3459
Day 1 Water: just over 5L
