This is my first birthday with friends since I've gone raw. The birthdays I used to throw always revolved around food! I always had people prepare food for me for my birthday, I never did it myself. So I'm confused about what to do. For some reason, it feels empty without all the "exciting" birthday foods I used to know and love.
I just recent got in contact with some old friends who I kind of drifted away from (since I was feeling so sick) and I didn't talk to them for... 4 years or so. But I talked to a few of them and they were happy to hear back from me! They don't know about my diet yet, but I can tell them.
I was thinking of going to a laser tag arena. I was thinking they can get some pizza and I can feast on a fruit salad. Then i was thinking of going back to my place to hang out, open presents and my old friends can see my kitties. I need some raw food ideas that you think 18-20 year olds would like. Thanks :)

Everyone likes cut up fruit, so get a whole bunch of different fruits and cut them up. Make a raw taco station maybe with guacamole, sprouts, chopped up veggie fruits, tomato salsa and maybe a fruity sauce, and use lettuce leaves for the taco shells. Megan Elizabeth has some really good appetizers (and salad dressings and desserts and ANYTHING YOU COULD ASK FOR ;) ) that you can use as fun party food in her recipe book Easy To Be Raw.

Permalink Reply by Kam on March 14, 2012 at 3:21am During my junior year in University my friends got together and surprised me and made a huge crazy party in my room-- balloons and decorations everywhere and on my desk was a huge beautiful presentation of tons of ripe bananas in a heart. It was the best haha. :)
Maybe you can just make a huge presentation of ripe fruit (so others can see when it is "meant" to be eaten and really allow their eyes to be drawn to its beauty). Checkout the photos on the FoodnSport page on Facebook or on the website. The presentation there is amazing and it is all very simple. No one can pass up a huge helping of living food that looks so wondrously prepared. And, it encourages people to witness the simplicity this lifestyle offers. Win=Win!

Permalink Reply by Chris P. on March 14, 2012 at 4:13am You could also make some fruit smoothies, almost everyone I know loves ripe bananas blended with strawberries and a little water... even people who think I'm mad eating as I do :)
I think that laser tag and grub sounds like a great idea.
... Have a great birthday! :)
